If anybody with some forensic knowledge could help me with this problem, I will be very grateful!

I am working on a screenplay. At one point, a male character wants to fake his own death, and leave the remains of someone to "stand in" for him, so that he will not be pursued further.
I am working on a screenplay. At one point, a male character wants to fake his own death, and leave the remains of someone to "stand in" for him, so that he will not be pursued further. The problem is, the person he is going to sacrifice is a female. I am having a very hard time finding information regarding the circumstances in which a female body could be mistaken for a male body. Of course the teeth would have to be removed and the flesh (fingerprints, etc.) would have to be destroyed, so an explosion/burning could work, but that leaves the issue of the skeleton. A female skeleton and a male skeleton are not the same.

Is anybody learned in the real-world procedure of identifying remains? Is there a circumstance in which female remains could be identified as male?

Even if anyone could suggest resources for me to look into, that would be incredibly helpful.

Thanks!

Sad day. Almost broke down and cried when I read about it at my day job.

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2010/01/19/arts/AP-US-Obit-Robert-Parker.html?scp=5&sq=robert%20b.%20parker&st=cse
Im writing a book on several of the women who are currently on death row. Each capter is dedicated to a woman on the row and her life before. I also talk about what happened in my life to make me feel even the tineset bit of sympathy toward these women.
Am I writing a nonfiction? If not, what would you call it?

When was the last time a character you loved died, in fiction, TV, or film series? Do you ever imagine how the series would have gone if the character had lived?

My most recent experience of this was with Special Agent Kate Todd (Sasha Alexander) on NCIS, For two seasons, Kate was my second-favorite character on the show after Gibbs (Mark Harmon). After taking a bullet in the vest saving Gibbs from a sniper, she was sniped herself. Quite a shock, generating 38 comments on my blog.…

As sad as I was to see Kate go, I was also intrigued at how the writers would proceed. Some viewers saw Mossad Officer Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) as a replacement for Kate, but I saw her as a new character, a fresh opportunity, and about halfway through the third season, she was showing skills and personality quirks Kate didn't have.
Have you ever decided between a character's life and death? What influenced your decision?
