Or, as is often the case, the pile of books next to your overflowing bookshelf known as 'Mount TBR'.

Me, I just ordered Anne Frasier's GARDEN OF DARKNESS, Jen Jordan's EXPLETIVE DELETED, Charlie Huston's HALF THE BLOOD OF BROOKLYN, and a little book by Delphine Lecompte called KITTENS IN THE BOILER.

I recently finished Tana French's IN THE WOODS and really enjoyed it, so maybe I'm not as hardboiled as I thought I was. Right now, I'm powering through Steven Hall's THE RAW SHARK TEXTS, with some Cormac McCarthy (THE ROAD) and Peter Temple (IN THE EVIL DAY) waiting in the wings. But there's always others on that mountain of books that may just take my fancy once I've finished my current read.

Anyone else feel like sharing their reading past, present and future?

Currently:

Schulz and Peanuts by David Michaelis
Ringworld by Larry Niven
The Singularity is Near by Ray Kurzweil
Of Human Bondage by W. Somerset Maughum

In the near future:

Pandora's Star by Peter F. Hamilton
Harm by Brian Aldiss
Freedomnomics by John R. Lott, Jr.
Ringworld's brilliant, as far as I remember (it's been a long time now).
At the moment I'm reading D-E-D Dead! - Geoff McGeachin - local author - sort of vaguely Shane Maloneyish in style, but spy thriller sort of scenario.

Next up, I've got a few that are shouting loudly from the stacks at the moment

Local Authors:
Jason Nehrung - The Darkness Within
Neil Cross - Natural History (NZealander)
Richard Flanagan - The Unknown Terrorist

Other Places:
The Darkness Inside - John Rickards
Absolution - Caro Ramsay
The Chamber of Death - Sarah Raynes
Dark Flight - Lin Anderson

But there's about 400 others I could choose from around here so I'm not promising anything :)
That's a lot of Darkness right there. I might change by current WIP's title to THE DARKNESS INDOORS (sorry, Rickards).
Given Mr Rickards "cameo" in Stuart MacBride's last book - The Darkness Behind might be better :)
Hah! I wondered about that character. :)
ohhhh okay.
reading:
Uninvited- Amanda Marrone
Latte Trouble--Cleo Coyle
Writing from the Heart (nonfic)

To be read:
one of the Janet E/Charlotte Hughes books(it is at work can't remember title!!!)
Jefferey Deaver--A Maiden's Grave
Rick Mofina-A Perfect Grave
I'm planning to re-read the label on my Heinz ketchup bottle while I wash down a double bacon cheeseburger with a Heineken. So much for the New Year's resolutions.
I've got a couple of pre-moistened, anti-static screen wipe labels to get through. Did you know that the re-order number is a full eight digits in length?

Wow.
I don't worry about size, as long as they're pre-moistened.
I'm currently half way through Cross by James Patterson, I then have Double Cross to read. Also piled up is a 5 pack of Australian true crime books and Visibility by Boris Starling.

There are also others with bookmarks hanging out of them that I promise myself I would get back to.

I'll get there.
I'll be interested to see what you think of Visibility Amanda - I really enjoyed it very much. I'd love to hear about the true crime books as well, I'm very partial to a good true crime book :)
