I'll be headed to BEA for the first time in a few days and I was wondering the following:

1 - Who else will be there and when.
2 - Besides its hugeness, is there anything else I should know or do while there.

I'll be giving away handmade goodies at the MWA booth on Friday from 1:30 to 2pm. If you're in the market for handbags, pouches, etc. stop by.

It's my first BEA as well, and I have no idea what to expect either. I'm also going to manning a booth for Sisters in Crime Friday morning, so come by and say hi.

I am also attending. I plan on walking around in a dazed state waiting for shiny things to attract my attention.
Desperate to meet booksellers and librarians, I've rented my own little booth down in the basement to give away copies of my book. I have no idea what to expect, or how many books to bring. Stop by for a free cannoli!
I'll be at the Sisters in Crime booth on Saturday morning and have volunteered to greet authors coming to sign at our booth after that. There was some talk about "runners" carrying yellow balloons to match the crime scene tape that'll decorate the booth. So maybe I'll have a balloon. I expect to be completely overwhelmed and hope I'll get some good free books. I don't have a book this year, but I'll be carrying bookmarks in the hopes of meeting some booksellers, librarians, and potential readers for my debut mystery next year. And even if it's a bust on a personal promotion level, the local Sisters and visiting SinC authors are going out to dinner that evening, and I know it'll be a great party. In fact, I organized it. ;) (Old hand at volunteering--grabbed the fun job!) Liz
Hopefully I'll be meeting the lot of you. Jen4, my books are shiny...Jack, believe it or not, after 30 years in NYC, I've never had a canoli. I'll try to get in on Friday early and visit SinC. Sounds like it'll be a happening booth.
Steve -
I think you and I are signing books at the same time Friday at the MWA booth. I look forward to meeting you.

It sounds like none of you is too geeked about any of the panels. I wonder why? There are a couple on library sales , debut novels, online marketing. I know it's hit or miss with panels, and someone you meet getting coffee can "make" the show for you, as opposed to just sitting in a room listening to someone bloviate, but I thought I'd check out a few..
Liz, I'll be at that dinner , too...see you there.
