Franklin Wins Ellis Peters Award

Rap Sheet and January Magazine contributor Ali Karim just rang in from London, to say that Ariana Franklin’s Mistress of the Art of Death (Putnam U.S./Bantam UK) has won the 2007 Ellis Peters Historical Dagger Award, presented annually by the British Crime Writers’ Association.

It was a particularly good selection from which the judges had to pick this year. Do you think they made the right choice?

I haven't read any of the other books that were nominated, but I did win Mistress of the Art of Death. It hought it was a wonderufl book, certainly deserving of the Historical Dagger Award.
