They can happen when reading a website, or the back cover of a book, or a deal gone terribly wrong, or a paragraph that begins with "Else." I'm referring to WTF moments. I have to imagine they happen to authors/readers a great deal. What are yours?

My earliest WTF writing moment was in an English class in high school. Mr Allen told me he would raise the grade of my poen a full letter if I changed the title to one he suggested. At the time I couldn't believe his abuse of power, but wanting that "A," I caved and made the change. After the grade went in the books, I tore up the poem. Now, in the interest of being a team player (insert "want to be published," here) I'd be happy to work through any editorial changes with Agent or Publisher Allen.
