Yesterday I spent 9 hours getting motivated by a wide range of speakers at a Get Motivated! seminar at Albany's Times Union Center. For only $4.95, I got to hear Colin Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Steve Forbes, Zig Ziglar and a whole bunch of motivational speakers. Lots of stuff applicable to writers, but nothing earthshaking. I did get motivated, but less so than today when I reached 3,000 hits on my new blog - now that was really motivating! I was persuaded to sign up for another seminar on August 14 about online marketing - will see if it's worth it.

Hi Daniel. I see your point, so I compromised and changed the location of the post to the Schmooze Lounge, where more BSP is allowed. I do see the topic as relevant to readers and writers here - who couldn't use more motivation? Anything that energizes and empowers the participants can be worthwhile, and it's good to be able to get away from the computer and experience a mass motivational event once in awhile (as long as it's not like the Nuremburg rallies). I discussed the Get Motivated! event further in my blog today. They're scheduling events in other cities, and you can find out more at www.getmotivated.com.
