    These days I don't do much reading-at least not as much as I would like to do, but I always find time to read thoroughly the entire literary magazines and journals which I subscribe to, whether I am published in them or not, as I find it so interesting to read other people's work. It gives me inspiration for my own writing and, although I never plagiarise, I find it stimulates me to write a similar piece in my own individual way (which in its finality probably resembles the original inspiriing creation in no conceivable way- but I guess that's just me).
    Sometimes, not that often, I find stories which amaze me- but there seems to be so much talent out there; people who know what it takes to dazzle a reader, and I am very happy that we live in an age where everyone can try their hand at writing; the competition is fierce, but respect of what occasionally achieves near perfection should always be applauded, no matter the style, content or argument presented.

    I learn something new in terms of writing every few weeks. How about you?

    You seem to like movies I enjoy and just wondered if you caught up with Ben Mendelssohn's low-cost movie Hunt Angels, which features original footage of the acclaimed Australian - Pyjama Girl Mystery. It has original footage of all the oldtime Sydney detectives. Well worth checking out in your video store for one of those (too few) cold wet evenings.

    Glad you accepted. And thanks for complimenting the land I read my books in. A little bit Euro Zealand we are. Haven't been to Australia yet, but would like to. I also know I'll try and mind the snakes if I get there.
    - Like your profile, by the way. Not all crime for me neither, although I love the playfulness towards an old and proven genre that in my opinion has always been there in crime fiction. There's been some strange annd fascinating crimemutations over the years. The really big best sellers tend to bore me some, but I also love that people on a massive scale are still getting pure entertainment from books. And, of course, publishing translated works of them is what I do for a living. - What about your own books? The crime novels first of all. havn't read a lot aussie litterature. Old not-so-crimey Kenneth Cook, and of course Peter Temple. Enjoyed The Broken Shore immensely. Does your books compare at all to anyone of those?

    Nice to hear that the snakes probably won't be out to get me if I dare enter the land of Oz. Didn't really think so, but it's nice to get reassurance.
    - It must be fun to be able to cross genres the way you do. Crime, fantasy and humour. Nice to spread the talent!
    Good luck with your writing, and please tell me if your agent or your publisher considers the scandinavian market. It's not big, but we do read a lot.
