I'm a writer of mysteries, science fiction, and anything that makes a good story! I love to read but often can't when I'm writing, because I tend to lose interest in anyone else's world but my own.
Just arrived and not quite sure what to do. Did I mention anywhere that I'm the founder of Bloody Words, the Canadian Mystery Con in Toronto...mostly? I'll be back later to tell more. I hear the dogs stirring.
Caro,
HI. Thank you for becoming a friend here in crime space. Yes, Alaska, and yes as you know Canada a just a bit to the East of here...drove up this summer via BS and Yukon. Lovely, huge and sooooo far to drive. The enormity of the open spaces and landscape was awe-inspiring to say the very least.
I look forward to our conversations.
Warmest regards
Good to see you all! I won't be doing any good discussions about anything for a while as I leave for World Fantasy Convention next week with my friend, horror writer Nancy Kilpatrick. Why am I going, you ask? For fun, mostly. And oh yes, I do write the odd bit of dark fantasy now and then. And then there;'s the erotica.... well, enough about that.
The WFC crowd is great and I am looing forward to a "pro" con, for a change. It's my last trip of the year and that's a good thing, too, as I need to get back to writing.
Ingrid! I went looking for MWF the other day and couldn't find it. Anyway, Tucker is no longwer with me. He is on doggy Prozac and haa moved to the country to live with a rescue lady with four other dachshunds. She has ramps everywhere so he doesn]t haev to picked up adn carried up[ steps etc. He is much better apparently and no longer barks at the telephone. He plays a bit with the others and even wags his tail.
Meanwhile, I have taken in 2 other rescue dachsies form Georgia, of all places. They were always kept outside until their owners moved to Toronto. Too cold in the winter here. They had the sense to hand them over to dachshund rescue, and now I have them, and they are delightful, affectionate and friendly. Wonderful dogs to come home to! They were not abused, but never in a house,. You can imagine the first moth or two. :) My husband id a saint!
Jane Burfield? Of course! She as a story in the anthology I edited called BLOOD ON THE HOLLY. A great book for Christmas, by the way. :) And Sleuth--hey, they carry my books. Gotta love' em!
I may be mis-remembering, but I think you sat next to me at the SIC booth at BookExpo. You've put a lot of promo-miles under you since then. Hope the travel was worth it. I was browsing members, and got interested when I read your remark about not being very interested in others' books when you're writing. I can SO relate (but I still try to read).
I'm afraid I'm a bit of a flop in the blogging world. Can't seem to remember to do it. :) I hoped this page would inspire me, but alas, it's only when Someone posts here that I remember. Sad.
My web page, however, is more or less up to date...
Caro
Congratulations on your book, Drag Queen! We are about to go and shovel our our cars when our snow-removal guys didn't show. See you tomorrow night if the abominable snowman doesn't get me first....
