I've asked Graeme to look very carefully at your submission. I can't influence his final decision of course but at least he knows to give it a really good reading. As for the newsletter by all means send him smething if you'd like to submit a story or articlae. Just send it to mythicapublsihing@gmail.com and mark it for the attention of Graeme S Houston. He's really keen to get as much content as possible for the first issue to make it as attractive as possible to the readers.
Hope you have a lovely sunday, and good luck with your submission!
Your support of Graeme' Mythica venture is just wonderful and I'm sure he'll appreciate all of your input. I'm personally looking forward to seeing your submission for the anthology as of course that one is 'my baby'. Since I sent that 'round robin' message out the other day Mythica's newsletter subscription has doubled. Graeme is delighted.
I loved that phrase you quoted from the review myself Joyce. I love it that he thought I'd created a wonderfully deranged mind, (though as it came from within my own mind maybe I should be worried...lol).
Thanks again for your lovely comments onmy book and i'm so pleased that you enjoyed it enough to read it twice.
Thanks a lot. I hope you enjoy it if you get it. It's quite short but was great fun to write. Te length is of course reflected in the price which won't break the bank...lol
That was fast! Thank you so much. I really hope you enjoy meeting Alan and Christina in their little adventure in The Carpathians. I'm just going out with my best frined for a couple of drinks but hope to hear from you later.
Thanks so much. 'Murder, Mayhem and Mexico' will be released in paperback in the next week or so, again priced at a modest $3.95. That one was placed 9th in the P & E Anthology awards last year, so I'm quite proud of it.
Your grandson sounds a highly intelligent young fellow. You must be very proud of him. By all means send me a 'rtf file. I can al;ways save it and convert it to word eventually.
Just on my way to the doctor now. Hope to hear from you later.
Joyce,
Finally had time to read your story over at Crooked and liked it! Great character, his twisted logic made sense to me (should I be worried?) Well done.
Eric
Thanks so much for your great review on Amazon. I'm delighted you enjoyed my story so much. You asked me to let you know when the next one came out and it has in fact just appeared on Amazon. 'Murder, Mayhem and Mexico' my award nominated short story trilogy is now in paperback at
http://www.amazon.com/Murder-Mayhem-Mexico-Brian-Porter/dp/1926640500/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1239224086&sr=1-11
It finished 9th in the 2007 anthologies category of The Preditors & Editors Readers awards so I'm quite proud of this one.
Hope the birthday party went well and that everyone had great fun.
Thank you for the kind words on Retirement Plan. I hope you enjoy it when it comes out. I'm an old mystery hack so it was a brand new adventure for me to write it and the response so far has been so good that I'm going to do another one for an anthology that I am submitting to that is being edited by our own, Brian L. Porter.
Great news about the Mythica submissions. Get involved in the forum. It's a great place to get to know the rest of the renegades over there. I think you will like working with those guys, you can learn a lot from them they've been doing this for a long time.
T.
Yes Brian asked me to submit a piece so I started it yesterday. It's a little out of my comfort zone, but with one Sci-fi under my belt I thought I would give it my best shot. We'll see if it makes the cut.
I'm glad you're having fun with the 'futuristic' theme for the anthology. I must say I've had some very interesting subs so far. As for my trilogy, it contains 'The Devil You Know' which was the story that kick-started my writing career. It was only a short story but had such an impact that people said it should be turned into a film (where have I heard that before? hehe). The central character in that one proved so popularthat I usd him again in 'Avenue of The Dead' which will be published at a future date by 4RV Publishing. Hope you enjoy it.
I tend to get a bit wordy myself. And I procrastinate like a Champion. I'll have to take an axe to mine to get it down to the right size. At the last minute of course. My next big project is a sequel to the current book. I'm at least started on it.
T.
In fact when I wrot that post it was at 8,782 in the Amazon Uk rankings and has since shot up again to 7,265, so for some reason it has really taken off.
Thanks for your comment on my blog Joyce. I'm pleased that you not only enjoyed the book thoroughly yourself but that you also agree with the latest reviewer's thoughts as well. It makes me feel good to know that the vast majority of readers feel that sort of 'pull' from the words of the journal.
I had a feeling you'd be one of the first to respond to my blog post. Yes, isn't the cover superb? It's based on a 19th centruy picture called 'The Vampire' by Philip Burne-Jones, from 1897, and Graeme adapted it for the cover after I found it and fell in love with it. Thankfully it's now in the public domain so we were able to use it, and it does convey so much. I'd go so far as to say it reflects the content of the book completely and it should be worth getting the book just for the cover alone....hehe I hope that doesn't sound too pompous, but I really do think this one of the best cover designs Graeme has EVER done. Oh yes, the story's quite good too!
It's amazing that a lot of people are getting in touch and saying similar things as you about buying Kiss of Life because it has such a great cover. I think that's great and speaks volumes for Graeme's talents and I can guarantee that there is a story of equal quality inside (In my humble opinion). I'm glad the first book left you wanting more and I hope this one will too, as I've decided to make this a serial and keep it going as long as I can create credible plot lines for it.
Oh dear, you must have been so frustrated when you realized you'd forgotten to order the anthology. Hopefully you won't forget today, and here's a little reminder to help you. DON'T FORGET TO ORDER MURDER, MAYHEM AND MEXICO! hehe
Hope you're having a good day Joyce, I'll be looking forward to hearing from you later, with news of a successful order....lol
Hope you're well today. Did your grandson keep his promise to remind you about the book? hehe I'm afraid I'm suffering a lot from the pains in my back today. It gets very bad from time to time and this is one of them, sadly. Never mind, I'm still managing to get a little bit of writing done, a few minutes at a time.
I'm still getting lots of messages about the cover of Kiss of Life. Looks like the book will sell well simply based on the cover design. How amazing! I knew it was one of the best Graeme has done for me but there's almost a frenzy of anticipation being created around the book because of it. That really is tremendous and illustrates just how important a good cover is to a book.
Anyway, just thought I'd keep in touch and I hope your story for submission to the Mythica anthology is coming along well.
Hi Joyce!! Thanks for your constant support. :) I don't know if I'll be able to make it to the conference on 5/29. I can't believe I made the cut, and not holding my breath for more (this way I'm always surprised and never disappointed LOL). Are you going to Bouchercon this year? I'm planning on it since it's practically in our back yard.
I just found out that my paperback edition of 'The Voice of Anton Bouchard' was released by Amazon today at http://www.amazon.com/Voice-Anton-Bouchard-Other-Stories/dp/190710805X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1242425749&sr=8-2
Sorry to hear you've been under the weather, but glad you're getting better. My back and shoulder are still painful bit I have to live with it I'm afraid.
I'm really very excited about the release of 'Anton Bouchard'. Graeme has done a great job in getting it out so soon. I can't wait to get my own copy as the new cover design is so brilliant. I'll be blogging the release today so hopefullyit will generate a few early sales.
Yes, 'Anton Bouchard' is very sinister indeed, as is one of the other stories in the book, 'Breathing to Death'. I used this collection to highlight some of the more sinister aspects of the human psyche when applied to the evils of heinous murder.
I think you'll also enjoy 'Red Sky in the Morning' quite a lot too.
Well, all of them really...hehe
Hope you enjoy it if you get a copy.
Thanks for the blog comment Joyce. I must admit that I'm still surprised every time one of those great reviews pops up as I still can't quite believe that people can possibly like the book so much.

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”
Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."
Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"
Book Synopsis:
The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.
Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.
The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.
Thanks for your wonderful comment on my blog post Joyce. I really appreciate your words. They mean an awful lot to me. I hope when you get 'Legacy of the Ripper' it will have a similar effect on you although the story is very different from the first one, and in many ways, far more chilling. At least that's what my wife says!
Thanks, Joyce--I appreciate the kind words you left on my comment wall about AN ALMOST PERFECT MURDER. I try in the research department and do as best I can given the time frame that publishers allow in their tight deadlines! Glad you had time to read the book.
Wow, Joyce, thanks--again! I'm blushing. Seriously, I wish I could get these kind of great "reviews" all the time--you should see some of the ones that show up on Amazon.com and BN.com. I truly appreciate your kind words, Joyce. It's comments like yours that help make it all worthwhile.
Thanks for the blog comment. I shall of course give away no secrets as to my insight into Jack's world and his mind, but let's just say that so any people have said I belong in the 19th century that perhaps there's a clue in there somewhere...haha
I do hope you get the opportunity to read 'Legacy of the Ripper' one day soon, and of course, there will be the third and final part of the trilogy, which is already on my 'drawing board' so to speak. Jack just has to 'flesh it out' so to speak....oh sorry, did I say Jack? I meant me of course....

What lovely things you say about me. I'm blushing. I really appreciate the value you place on my work, and I'm so pleased that I've succeeded in turning fiction into fact, so to speak. I do try hard to 'suck the reader in' to the story and you appear to intimate that I've succeeded for which I'm very grateful. I hope you enjoy 'Legacy' and don't worry,t he third part of the trilogy will take a while to write so you've plenty of time to read this one.
