I am a busy Mum of four who loves to read crime fiction. I am currently working on my first crime novel, which I hope to finish this year. I have just finished a writing course that I thoroughly enjoyed. I live in the small coastal town of Yamba in oz, and wouldn't want to live anywhere else, it truly is paradise.
I Am A:
Reader, Writer
Books And Authors I Like:
Robert Barrett, my favourite is You wouldn't be dead for quids. Robert Crais The Elvis Cole Series and Two minute rule, Sue Grafton, Janet Evanovich, Patricia Cornwell, James Patterson,Nicci French,Nelson De Mille, Carl Hiaasen and Di Morrissey. Lisa Gardner, Peter Temple (my newest discovery)
On another matter, an American woman writer, Taylor Caldwell, typed with her child at her feet, had her return postage stolen by house to which she submitted and still persevered to best sellerdom. Where there's a will, as they say.
I'm lucky to know Luisa and have read all of her Grace Marsden, including the newest one which came out last fall. The Rosary Bride is the first, followed by The Lion Tame, The Station Master, The Scout Master and The Lighthouse Keeper. I was also fortunate to take a Master Class with Lee Child at Love Is Murder this past February. Nice man and great writer :o) I enjoyed the writing assignments too. Sometimes I think they acted as little shoves in the right direction. Now I have to give myself deadlines or I don't do as much as I should. I'm off to work now, but keep me posted on your classes and such. Sounds like we share some of the same interests (like Elliott Stabler). Have a good one :o)
Thanks for the well-wishes. Very much appreciated.
I see you are writing your first novel. I wish you all the best with it. I found I couldn't have written my first without the support and resourses available at on online writer's forum. I have just blogged about a couple if you are interested in having a look. Just pop on over to my Blog for the details (http://jjcooperaus.blogspot.com/). Again, all the best with your writing.
