About Me:
Darden North, MD, is a practicing obstetrician-gynecologist in Jackson, Mississippi, who has written and independently published three hardcover novels, HOUSE CALL (October 2005) and POINTS OF ORIGIN (October 2006), and FRESH FROZEN (October 2008) with paperback release of HOUSE CALL in October 2007. His medical and surgical practice began in 1986, a background that lends unmistakable authenticity to his medical thrillers as North portrays intense character relationships.

North’s first novel HOUSE CALL was awarded Finalist in Mystery/Suspense by the 2008 Next Generation Indie Book Awards while his second novel POINTS OF ORIGIN was recognized in Southern Fiction by the 2007 Independent Publishers Book Awards. Both novels were nominated in Fiction by the Mississippi Institute for Art and Letters and by the Southern Independent Book Association.

North is a member of Mystery Writers of America, the Mississippi Writer’s Guild, Sisters in Crime, and the Independent Book Publishers Association. He has participated as an author panelist in such literary presentations as “Murder in the Magic City” (Birmingham, AL), “Author! Author! Celebration of the Written Word (Shreveport LA), “Murder on the Menu (Wetumpka, AL), and "Thriller Author Panel" Southern Independent Book Association (Mobile, AL.) Darden North and his novels have also appeared at the Kentucky Bluegrass Festival, South Carolina Book Festival, and the Texas Book Festival.

    Well, it's true! I hope to re-read Fresh Frozen over the holiday....I had to read it in bits and pieces the first time...which is difficult to do in a real "page turner" like that. I probably should have waited til the holidays so I could read it straight through the first time...but I was just too curious to wait any longer....and yeah, I know what that did to the cat.
