About Me:
Milt Toby is an author, photographer, attorney, and world traveler who works from his home in Georgetown, Kentucky. Milt has written professionally for some 35 years: on the editorial staff of The Blood-Horse magazine (where he covered Thoroughbred racing in the United States, England, Panama, and Japan); a six-year stint as a freelance photojournalist living in China, Costa Rica, and Colombia (where his clients included Soldier of Fortune); and more recently as a frequent contributor to The Horse magazine. He also is the author of five books about Thoroughbred racing and equine law, plus award-winning short fiction. Milt represented Death Row inmates for a number of years and he maintains a long-standing interest in Jack the Ripper (the subject of his first novel) and other serial killers. He is a Contributing Editor for The Big Thrill, the newsletter of International Thriller Writers, and serves as Chair of the American Society of Journalists and Authors’ Contracts Committee.

Milt is an active presenter at national and regional conferences and workshops. He has discussed the vagaries of forensic evidence with mystery writers, copyright issues with magazine publishers and graphic artists, publishing contracts, criminal law, and the death penalty.
