  • Gary C. King

Thanks for the comment on my page. I think I should have sent my response to your page, but I put it up on mine. What's the proper procedure? At any rate, I said: Perhaps you know the Butcher case as the Vancouver Pig Farm Murders of a few years ago?

I hadn't heard about the Nanoedit in March. I think I will look into it Mine needs a good stiff red pen, but like Kit Palooka in Pretty Woman, it "...gots lots of potential"

Thanks for the kind words. Glad you liked it.

Yo, girl!! I joined up in this outfit!! Thanks to you.

Thanks for reading the stories. I just submitted my entry for the Twist of Noir contest. Fingers crossed that they like it. I do. The pressure of writing for a contest brings out the best in me I guess. Now if I can just get one of those novels published.....

    Hi Joyce,

Thanks for your kind message. I've spent 37 years studying the ripper case and my book was my fictional tribute to those who fell victim to his crimes. I do hope you'll get a copy and would love to hear what you think about it. It has topped the bestseller chart at Amazon in its category in the USA, The UK and Canada in the last year, so it must have some appeal. when I received the Movie Deal I was almost speechless for a week. Please check out the reviews at amazon and if you do get it, I will be very honoured.

    Wow Joyce,

You sure move fast. Thanks for ordering the book and I really hope you enjoy it. the contract for the sequel was signed yesterday as sson as the publisher received the manuscript, and the same editor who worked with me on the first book has been appointed to work with me again on this one, which is great, as she knows my work so well.

Will look forward to hearing more from you very soon.

    Very best wishes

Just thought I'd touch base in here and say 'Hiya!'

    Hello Joyce,

What can I say except, thank you for such a wonderful response to the book? I'm absolutely delighted that you enjoyed it so much and hope you find the sequl equally as compelling when it is released later this year. As for that time machine, I've studied the Victorian era for so long that I think I was born a hundred years too late. I would have loved to live through that period and I hope it shows in my writing when I delve into the past. I did spend a lot of time researching not just the Ripper case, but Victorian speech and writing habits to try and make the journal read authentically, and the study of Victorian psychaitric methods was eye-opening.

I do hoep you won't mind if I ask if you'd mind putting that wonderful review on the Amazon site forme? Every good reveiew is a potential aid to helping the book succeed and I would greatly appreciate it.

Thansk again for your wonderful comment son my work Joyce.

    Very best regards

Thanks ever so much Joyce. I agree with you that reader reviews are far more important than so-called 'professional' ones. They are a far truer reflection of the book and how it's seen by the reading public.

So I have to say thank you once again and hope that you'll also get the chance to see the movie of 'A Study in Red' when it's released.

    Best regards

    Hi Joyce,

Thanks for doing the review. I'll be very interested to see it when it appears on the Amazon site. I also hope that Hollywood doea my book justice. Like you I've often been disappointed in film versions of The Ripper, particulalry 'From Hell' with Johnny Depp. I like him but that fim was AWFUL. The best version was 'Jack The Ripper' starring Michael Caine whihc was made for TV back in the 80s. A great version, though I disagreed with the conclusion, but the atmosphere they created and the believablility factor was all there.

I'll go see if that review has shown up yet and once again Joyce, I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the book and thanks you for taking the time to say so in public via the Amazon site.

Would you believe I'm hard at work with my publisher puitting the finishing touches to my poetry collection under my Juan Pablo Jalisco name which is due out this week? Quite a change eh?

    Best regards

Looking forward to receiving your submission Joyce. If you can you should blow that cover up to a larger size and see the detail in it. It really is fantastic. It reminded me of H.G. Wells and The Time Machine when I first saw it.

    Hi Joyce,

He's simply a genius of design as well as all his other talents. Now you know why three of my covers have won design awards! I don't know how he does it, but I'm glad he does. Isn't it just superb?

He does do covers for other people if ever you're in need of one by the way. I'm sure he wouldn't charge the earth.

Best regards and so glad you like it.
