In BLOOD AND BONE - An eighteen-year-old boy lies dying of leukemia. Kyle's only hope is a bone marrow transplant, but no one in his wealthy Virginia family can safely supply it. His last chance lies in finding his father, a man who disappeared before he was born. Police and private investigators can find nothing on a trail eighteen years cold.

Kyle's family has nowhere to turn until they learn of a certain troubleshooter, a self-styled knight errant in dark glasses named Hannibal Jones. He has two weeks to find the missing man, but his search turns up much more: A woman who might be Kyle's illegitimate sister, the woman who could be her mother, and the man who may have killed Kyle's father.

Hannibal follows a twisting, winding path of deception, conspiracy and greed, from Washington to Mexico, pursuing the truth. But with each step closer to it he gets, the danger grows.

Austin, I adore Saratoga! What a great place to live. We go up every now and then to visit friends. It's beautiful.
  • Austin S. Camacho

Hi Meredith, and thanks for being my first CrimeFriend. Sararoga is an easy drive up from NYC, but we're not that far away either. Maybe I'll see you at Malice Domestic.
  • Jeff Markowitz

You never know who you're gonna run into in virtual space. I hope all is well.
  • Austin S. Camacho

Jeff!! What's up buddy? Should have expected to find you here. I only started this page today and haven't quite mastered the whole "connect with your pals" thing yet... but I'm getting there and I'm sure glad you found me. ;-)
  • Jeff Markowitz

Yeah Austin. I'm way ahead of you. I started my page yesterday.
  • Libby Hellmann

Hey, Austin. Good to see you here. And thanks for the invite. Yes, I will be at Malice. Let's catch up there. I finished the part of the book that we talked about at LIM. Onward. What's up with you?
  • Tribe

    Eres Puertorriqueño?
  • Austin S. Camacho

    This is a busy place....

Hey Libby!! Good on ya for finishing that section. I'm eager to maybe sneak an advanced peek. Buy ya a cup of coffee at Malice! I've been working on short stuff, oddly enough, for a couple of anthologies. When we meet again I'll show you mine if...
  • Austin S. Camacho

    Sorry, Tribe, no hablo espanol.
  • Tribe

    That's cool...good meeting you.
  • Newt Love

    Hey Austin!
Cool to see you. MJ Rose and others are here, but you and MJ are my cross-over heros!
Welcome, and of course, "All That Jazz!"
  • Karen Syed

Howdy Do, Austin. Glad to see you made it!!
  • Newt Love

    Happy Birthday!
  • LaTanya Pattillo

Okay Austin. Can't wait to read your novels. And if Shemar is starring in your movies well, I can ensure a hit with the ladies. Of course I am sure you already knew that.
  • Austin S. Camacho

Good to hear from you, LaTonya, and I'm anxious to read more of your stuff too. Especially since you're not far from my favorite vacation spot, Myrtle Beach. I don't have Shemar in a movie YET, but I'm keeping the pressure on because he'd be perfect for my detective. Think he had a CrimeSpace page???
  • Laine

Hey Austin! Thanks for the chatter. My Malice was great for the same reason...you are such a HOOT! Can't wait to read your book! :)
  • Jeff Markowitz

    Austin -

Thanks for the mention in your newsletter. Are you planning to come to NY for BEA or to NJ for Deadly Ink? I'd love to get together and compare notes (and buy a round).

    Jeff
  • Alan Cook

    Hi Austin,

Enjoyed giving the flash presentations with you at Malice.
  • Theo Gangi

glad to hear it. Hannibal's the man.
  • Theo Gangi

The moors did have a good run in Spain, but I get your point.
  • Cyndi Martin

Thanks for adding me! You're right--it's like a candy store for a bookworm. I love it!
  • Allan E. Ansorge

Austin will you be at Love Is Murder this year?
  • Laine

Hey Austin! I have not attended the Cape Fear Festival, but I have heard great things about it! This past year they did things a little different, in that most of their events were free and open to anyone in town that day! LOL..I was going to go, but didn't recognize any of the 'names' in attendance and then the date snuck up on me and passed me by! SO I missed it! Maybe next year! And you know my lasagna is always worth the price of plane fare, right? LOL
  • Loraine

    Hi Austin,
It's nice to see you here :) How are you doing? Having a great week, I hope.
  • Darren Laws

Hi Austin, Best wishes and luck to you for 2008 too!
  • Allan E. Ansorge

You should be writing not surfing. Get busy or I'll tell Deneise. See you in Chicago, I am flying in from Florida just to get your latest signed
  • Austin S. Camacho

I look forward to seeing you, Allan. Love is Murder is the party that I open my writing year with, and it's always a gathering of friends. See you in a month. :-)
  • Linda L. Richards

Great to meet you too, Austin. Hanibal Jones sounds amazing. Will have to read you soon!
  • Dana King

I live in Maryland, but belong to a Northern Virginia writers group. Would you be interested in stopping by a meeting sometime to share some of your experiences?
  • David L. Hoof

Fancy meeting you at AU, at the WIW fiction workshop. Don't be a stranger. Your contributions to the panel discussion were right on-mark.

    David
  • Kim Smith

Hey Austin! hope your con-hopping is going well. Do tell us about it!!!
  • L.J. Sellers

    Hi Austin
You sound incredibly busy...and successful. Congratulations.
  • Austin S. Camacho

Well, we mustn't confuse activity with progress, L.J., but I do seem to be doing something right and getting readers. As Eeyore would say, "Thanks for noticing." :-)
  • Persia Walker

I'm happy to discover your work, too. Best wishes for your continued success.
  • David L. Hoof

Thanks. It was reassuring seeing at least one familiar face besides Geneva's. Otherwise, it would have been weird, Hollyweird or not. Nice reconnect.
  • Mitzi Szereto

Is that a good or a bad thing? :-D
  • Austin S. Camacho

Oh, most assuredly a good thing. I guess the stories left her in a very pleasant mood when they were finished.
  • David L. Hoof

Did you come up with Hannibal's given name before or after Harris's Hannibal Lecter? I ask only that Harris's villain's name casts some rather dark aspersions on any other character attempting to overcome the cannibal's stigma.
