Naomi!!! Great to see you here!
  • Naomi Hirahara

I'm pretty clueless about these social networks--never myspaced it, but this is interesting. I'll see you at the LAT Festival of Books, right? Will your book be out by then?
  • Brett Battles

I'll be there, but book will still be about two months away (june 26th!)
  • Jeff Sherratt

Hi Naomi, thanks for thinking of me. We were together on a mystery panel a while back with Denise Hamilton and others. You were awesome. Because of your books, I now know what Kibei means.
  • Naomi Hirahara

Thanks, Jeff. It was good to see you at the SINC Hollywood conference.
  • Duane Swierczynski

Hey, Naomi! You'll be at the LAT Festival, too? I look forward to saying hello.
  • Naomi Hirahara

I most definitely will be there. I won't be able to make the Mystery Bookstore shindig on Friday night, but hope all you out-of-towners as well as in-town folks will be there. The Southern Cal MWA chapter will be cosponsoring, and if I know Prez Les Klinger, there will be a nice spread and, of course, libations.

I'll be moving from booth to booth all weekend, so we'll definitely run into each other, Duane!

Enjoyed your story in L.A. NOIR. Good stuff!
  • Naomi Hirahara

Thanks, David! Darker stuff to come in other short stories and possibly a novel. Between these noir projects and my middle-grade book, I feel like I'm leading a double life.

Naomi-- Thanks for reminding me of SWIMMING POOL. I loved it, too, and I have friends who are still arguing about it. It's probably the only film that actually tackles the work of a writer from the inside... Cool stuff.

I have a huge crush on Shia LeBoeuf, so Disturbia will be on my list at some point. We watched Rocky Balboa not long ago-not a bad ending for the Rocky saga if you've seen those. The Grudge 2 is also good. We're into B horror so we've been having some cheese fests lately.

For this weekend I've rented An Inconvenient Truth and Borat-I have a feeling the second one will be more for me than the hubby.
  • norby

The few scenes I've seen from Borat look great, and I love the fact that people signed releases then tried to claim they got tricked. I'm just curious I guess. Plus Ali G kind of cracks me up.
  • Naomi Hirahara

Thanks, Suzanne. I'll rent it after I survive Edgar Week and the L.A. Times Festival of Books!
  • Simon Wood

I blogged about my INS adventures privately but I won't be on Murderati...
  • Simon Wood

I left you a response to short-to-long question...
  • Cara Black

Hey Naomi nice to be your friend...I'm in La next week, you around?
  • Cara Black

Let's try for dinner, think I owe you!
