I write the Val Lyon Private Eye series--one novel, Pilikia Is My Business, and seven short stories. I'm currently at work on a new series featuring Ava Rome, a Honolulu PI, former MP.

When not writing, I do educational research at Texas A&M University, root for the Aggies, run marathons (the picture was taken during the Armadillo Dash half-marathon), and spoil my grandchildren, Morgan and Matt.

  Congratulations on your Spinetingler acceptance. Short stories are tougher to write than long ones.
  I have a videotape of my one and only jump, but it's shot from the ground and not impressive. But proof, anyway, that I did it. I have a few other "adrenaline junkie" shots on my page.
