Thanks for stopping by. We're not too worried about the other's criminal inclinations :-) We still haven't met and joke that when we do, it will be on a very special Oprah!

I left a comment, and was sad to not see it on a return trip. Then I remembered that I left the comment on your space in BookPlace, not in CrimeSpace. Are they like a left and right brain thing?
  • Peg Herring

It might be age-related, but I wouldn't know, being only about thirteen!!
  • Sylvia Dickey Smith

Hey pegfish! Love the nickname! No, I haven't been to any of those conferences yet. Hopefully soon. Good luck on finding someone to read your work. That English-teacher background scares off folks, eh? I look forward to reading your work. At least you don't have as many comma-errors as I put in mine!! LOL
  • Mary Saums

Hi, Peg - We share some favorite authors. Not long ago, I bought Craig Johnson's first book. Everyone says it's great. I also love British sitcoms and movies. Best of luck with your writing!
  • Kathryn Lilley

Hi Peg, thanks for being my friend!
  • Elizabeth Zelvin

Hi, Peg, thanks for the comment. I'm especially glad to make Friends who love the same authors I do on Crimespace, where many have a taste for Dark. I think we already know each other, btw. SinC? Guppies? Liz
  • Alan Cook

    Hi Peg,

I have at least 5 copies of my new book,
HONEYMOON FOR THREE, to give away to Crimespace members. Let me know if you are interested. I will need addresses of the winners. My email address is alcook@sprintmail.com.

My mother grew up in Harbor Beach, Michigan (in the thumb). My uncle still lives there.
  • bruceforester

Love your rendering all true of the process of getting your ms. from your hands to a well espcted agent who is passionate about your work and then to an editor at a pub house who alo salivates. However all that effort when successful is quite the epiphany.
  • bruceforester

Clever like Miss. Marple.. Bruce Forester
  • Linda Ladd

Hi Peg--I'm glad to meet you! I'm from a whole family of teachers. Actually, I used to teach myself for awhile, business. So I appreciate all those years you spent shaping/encouraging kids before you retired. Thanks for that.
  • Lyn LeJeune

Thanks for the PR information. I need it. My book, The Beatitudes, is a paranormal thriller set in New Orleans. It will be out in the fall and I am donating all royalties directly to the New Orleans Public Library Foundation. Libraries support the infrastructure of a great city, so I have started The Beatitudes Network to promote awareness of the importance of public libraries in NOLA.
The blogsite www.beatitudesinneworleans.blogspot.com describes the Network, has excerpts from The Beatitudes, recipes, and more. Merci mille fois. Lyn Lejeune.
Writers, please pass the word…..it’s for a good cause….don’t let the libraries of New Orleans or the US go the way of The Great Library of Alexandria. P.S. just posted an excerpt on my page here on crimespace.
  • Sandra Balzo

I think we did meet at Magna, Peg--are you going this year?
  • Peg Herring

Sadly, no. I've got a romance coming out in January, but nothing in mystery yet, and I just can't justify the expense, even though I'll miss seeing old friends. I'm looking seriously at Left Coast Crime in Denver, just because it's one I haven't been to yet.
  • Julie Hyzy

    Hi Peg,
Thanks for your comment. I'd love to come up with some quote-y sort of commentary for your presentation... thanks for asking! I'm running out the door this morning and I'll be out all day. But I promise to get back to you soon.
By the way - I'm also thinking about LCC - I've never been there either. But I've heard good things.
  • Sandra Balzo

Left Coast Crime is one of my favorite conferences. It's really well run, wherever it is, and is the perfect size. Big enough to be very professional, but not as big as a Bcon, where you can't see everyone. You both should give it a try!
  • Gemma Halliday

Thanks, Peg. Wonderful to meet you!

    ~Gemma
  • Kelli Stanley

Another Thomas Hardy fan! Great to meet you, Peg. He's one of my favorite writers, and sadly under-appreciated.

I'm thrilled to see you at Crimespace. And enjoyed the "Stayin' Alive" blog, too! ;)

    Take care,

    Kelli
  • Kelli Stanley

Very cool, Peg! I love the Elizabethan era--whenever I'm in England, I manage to squeeze in a trip to Dorset and some sort of Elizabeth I connection. Warwick castle has one of her saddles (a highlight of my visit, along with the torture chamber). ;)

I'm always glad to meet Five Star authors--we're an eclectic bunch! :)

Take care, and stay in touch!

    Kelli
  • Cheryl Norman

Hi, Peg. I enjoy reading your blog!

    Cheryl
  • Maryann Mercer

Michael black's book? Loved it! I enjoy his series too, but the Heist was a great look at what can happen when the city goes dark. Have you read his others?
  • Graeme S. Houston

Alas it was that wrong turn at Loch Lomond ;)
  • David Magayna

    Hi Peg,

Thanks for the invitation. Happy Holidays.

    Dave

Hi Peg. Thanks for stopping by.
Keeping up with the reviewing part is the more difficult. I'm always tempted to finish one book and jump right on to another. It takes discipline to do those reviews first, though.

  • Shirley Wells

Hi Peg, and thanks for the invite. Great blog you've got there. It puts me to shame. I'll try and get busy on mine. :o)
  • Shirley Wells

Yes, Robert Barnard is a fascinating man and thoroughly likeable as well as being such a wonderful writer. I often see him at Crime Writers' Association functions.
  • Bethany K. Warner

Historical romance is fine with me.
I'll get you on the roster for a future interview.
  • Geoff McGeachin

    Hi Peg,
Read the Learning Curve post and immediately recognised that particular precipice. Then I read your other posts and your website and thought 'I should friend this person.' In reality I should befriend this person but I guess we are all now trapped in blogspeak. The whole 'we published it, now you sell it' thing is a bit of a shocker. Something I found very helpful was put together by a bloke named Ian Irvine - I was a bit grumpy that I didn't discover it until after my first book came out. http://members.ozemail.com.au/~irvinei/publishing.html
    Cheers,
    Geoff
  • Austin S. Camacho

Hi, Peg, and thanks for the add! I'll be watching your blog!
  • L.J. Sellers

Interesting post. I'm currently editing a behavior management text book for an educator who believes in never giving up on any student, that every student can be reached if you try enough variables. It's a nice idea, but I think you're closer to the truth of it.
  • Allan E. Ansorge

    Peg,
Are you near the Wi. boarder and would you be interested in a co-signing for "Dying"?
  • Tony Burton

Hey, Peg! SO glad to have you as part of the Dying In a Winter Wonderland team. We're going to slam-dunk the goal this year, I'll wager!
  • Beth Groundwater

Thanks for befriending this fellow mystery author, Peg, and I'll see you in Indianapolis for Bouchercon/mini-Magna next fall, if not sooner!
  • Sheri Fresonke Harper

I hope you have a merry Christmas and happy holiday season :) Sheri
  • Margaret Palmer

Hey Peg, I have started working on my book. I have 13 chapters written and working on my 14th. It's really going well. I saw the Malice contest, but I don't think I'll finish in time. If you want to take a peek, the link is http://www.goodreads.com/profile/lovemyfrogs . Thanks for the friendship.
  • Larry W. Chavis

Hi Peg, I'd like the book.
  • janimar
