Pulp Pusher #1 Now Online

I am very pleased to announce that Edinburgh writer and editor Tony Black's online zine of criminally good writing, Pulp Pusher, is now live at www.pulppusher.com.

I am a minnow in an internet pond that features Ken Bruen and Allan Guthrie.

I hope you have the chance to enjoy a little free noir.

Well, we live and we die. Some get killed. Actually you can give quite a good argument that the first crime novel was written by a norwegian. Mauritz Hansen: The murder of Machinebuilder Rolfsen (1839) - But it's stretching it a bit, I think. Poe did something completely different with the mystery and investigation in Rue Morgue. - Still we have some good writers, and some bad killers. If you're looking for the first kind, try Jo Nesbø, Kjell Ola Dahl and Karin Fossum.

Hi, JD! Thanks for getting the word out about Pulp Pusher -- seems right up my dark, desolate alley. I'm off to peruse the site right now.

Hi John and thanks for the push-up, above, on Pulp Pusher. Really wish it was all my own graft, but I just do the donkey work. Frontera Dogs is one hell of a story though, so thanks again for the contribution!

Thanks for the welcome. And thanks to others as well. I'm still figuring out how to navigate the site. Also, I'm contemplating the irony that people involved in crime fiction are so friendly. Go figure.

Hi, J.D. & welcome!

I've just started Gischler's GUN MONKEYS and am loving it. I can relate to the gaps in reading, too. So many great writers...
