You sure have had some adrenalin-pumping moments. You have something to write about. In all my years on the force, it was mostly the politics that got my adrenalin (and the anger) going. Civil Rights law sure did limit our ability to do our jobs.
My cat of 21 1/2 years died over the weekend, so I'm a little sad right now. I miss her something terrible.

You do have a cushy job. All I ever dealt with was the pond scum of the world and their lawyers. I think if I HAD to be a lawyer, it would have to a prosecutor. I could never in good conscience defend any of those people arrested. There was a reason they were arrested in the first place, and to me, they're guilty. And if they do happen to "beat the rap," it's because the jury are idiots. We both know what goes on before the trial, so, to me, the trial is only a formality. I've seen how defense attorneys play on the emotions of a jury. And they fall for it! When did "uncover the truth" become "The hell with the truth! I just want to get my client off." I hated the games and the politics of law enforcement. You put your life on the line getting some low-life off the streets, and some liberal judge ( or idiot jury) lets them go. It was a revolving door. After a while, you just quit trying, go with the flow, and realize you can't make a difference.

Hi Steven, thanks for the Invite! I took a short jaunt to Oklahoma on an extradition a few years back. The weather was gorgeous, as was the countryside. (We had but a half day to explore.)
