Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.

Facebook does have way too many fun things to do. My husband and I kidnap each other at least once a day. On the other hand, I've reconnected with people I haven't seen since I was a teenager. Not only has that been good for my heart, but a few of them have even bought copies of my book!

Hey there! I need to spend some time catching up with folks on Crimespace. Haven't signed up for Facebook. Too stubborn. :) I keep thinking it's a fad and will wither to nothing and then I'll have wasted time setting up a page. :) There are way too many fun things to do.

I'm happy to see Tim here and that he'll be visiting us again.

See ya-
Mary

Hey, Beth --

Sorry it took me so long to respond -- I'm in Asia and in and out of Internet access, also going through an especially messy set of galleys which I finally finished today and will send to William Morrow via DHL this afternoon.

I had an amazing time in Nashville and will come back in September for BREATHING WATER.

Say hi to everyone for me.

Writing is going fine - royalties aren't LOL! I've give up ever making any money, I just plain like to write and plan to as long as I can see the monitor.
Hope you are busy writing too, write what you like (I do :-) I had two hcs in 2007, hc lp of one ot them in 2008, two scheduled for 2009 (the first of the Maryvale series cozy mysteries and Stranger in Paradise, a romance-suspense-it's already up on Amazon. Then two more scheduled for 2010 date TBA. DOA is the first of a new cozy series (tip for cozy readers who like some laughs) and the editor actually said when all the grunt work was done "I just loved it!" I'd have bronzed her e-mail if I could do that and still read it LOLF.
Love and best wishes,
Jackie
