Wallander/Mankell can be pretty dour Angela, which is a little of a continuing trait in many Scandanavian (esp Swedish) crime novels - the protagonists often aren't particularly heroic, and in many things can just amble along sometimes.

Recently finished Lennox by Craig Russell, Fear the Worst by Linwood Barclay, and Halfhead by Stuart MacBride (his futuristic thriller). Now reading The Crucifix Killer by Chris Carter, which is proving a little mediocre and disappointing thusfar....

- I am a New Zealand-based (now that I have returned from a couple of years overseas travels) magazine writer and crime fiction reviewer. I write full-time for NZLawyer magazine, and also contribute freelance to magazines, newspapers and websites in New Zealand, Australia and internationally. I contribute regular crime fiction review to a number of publications, including Good Reading magazine (Australia) and the EuroCrime website (UK). - I read widely, but overall I would have to say my top authors are probably Mark Billingham, Michael Connelly, and James Lee Burke. Others like J.A. Kerley, Robert Crais, and Linwood Barclay close behind.
- Movies And TV Shows I Like:
- too many to list. Right now my faves on TV are probably Entourage for comedy/drama, and SVU and Criminal Minds for crime drama.
