Nice tight writing. I like the accompanying graphic. If only the rest of life was as simple as a diagram of how to bust a chin.

Yes, definitely go read Uncle Sal. It's brief, to the point, and wickedly wonderful. I love this one.

Bringing up the rear

So, the good news is I placed third in Eric Beetner's FIST contest with my flash "Uncle Sal". The bad news is my prize of Eric's new novel, One Too Many Blows to the Head, co-written with JB Kohl, is still at the printers. I guess I'll just have to be patient. Anyways, in the meantime, please enjoy my story up now on Eric's blog.

Two for the show.

Over at A Twist of Noir, I've got two stories up, and each one's title is also its word count. Keep your eyes peeled for the aptly-titled follow-ups.

Two down, one to go.

I'm not a very goal-oriented guy, if you can believe that. But when it comes to today's crime fiction scene, to me, there's a Holy Trinity to shoot for: Out of the Gutter, Plots with Guns, and Thuglit. Well, I've gotten into Plots with Guns twice now, and today we can cross another one off the to-do list. Nice job on the Thug Lit story. And I dig the comic blog. Did you catch Swierczynski's run on the Punisher? Pretty cool stuff. Had a Guy Richie vibe to it, but less wise-crackie.

Dine away, sir. The Certificate of Thy Props go to you for getting me into this genre. Your two flashers were intriguing and were what got me interested in Flash Fiction Offensive. From there, I found great writing. I couldn't help but try my hand at it.

Thanks for kind words about "Purgatory" too!

This lazy bastard has taken digs up at FFO. Check it out! It's called "Purgatory at the Pump 'n' Loaf."

The first submission is away to Flash Front Offensive. Thanks again for the tips. If nothing else, I found a great place online to read fiction. Good writing to you!

Thanks for the advice, Jimmy. I liked the two flashers you posted the other day. They were fast and to the point. This is a genre I could get into.

Congrats on joining the PWG alumni -- I's going to submit something new to Neil soon, just cranking out the revision for my second.

CHARLEY VARRICK is an under-rated gem, thanks for doing the homage to it bro
