The answer is yes. I spent most of my twenties as a very active criminal. It's not a period of my life which I'm proud of, but it was what it was. No, I don't think it makes my writing any better, it just means I have to research less

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

Yeah, Paul is all over the place. I've not had a chance to finish his newer stuff nor yours. Too damn busy with the Hogdoggin' blog and my novel and sending a few shorts out. Got a new one coming in the August issue of PWG. Flesh Rule. How about yourself, anything new?

Jed and Paul are over here as well. Good to see the noir/hardboiled crew stomping their bloody shoes around the place.

Pretty much what you'd expect, right? Been on this thing a few months. Never really use it. Seen your and Neil's names.

I was disappointed by that also, but they want a full year between books--from their experience it takes that long for word of mouth to spread and their books to be absorbed. On the positive, I know they have very high hopes for Pariah, and they're planning for it to be one of their top books. I also think they're going to be putting more marketing muscle behind this one.

Hi Keith, thanks for ordering it, I think you're going to enjoy it. The book's not being released in the US until October, but what I think is happening is that amazon is leaking copies early by moving them from their UK warehouse. At least that's my guess.

Hey, thanks for the good vibes on YELLOW MEDICINE. One of your top ten for the year, I see (on Amazon)? I'm touched. Much appreciated.

I'm sure someday Bo Fexler will appear in her own set of novels. But today is not that day.
