Alabama-bred, living in Delaware for the time being
About Me:
I'm on extended leave from academia while I raise my little kids. I write fiction when I have the time and inclination. Still getting used to not living in the South, being in my 40s, staying at home, living on one income, and motherhood. Seems like all these things happened at once. Two elderly Italian Greyhounds add to the chaos of our household.
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Crying of Lot 49, Ceremony (Leslie Marmon Silko), Love Walked In (Marisa de los Santos)
Anne Frasier, Harley Jane Kozak, Dennis Lehane, William Faulkner, Eudora Welty
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
Anything the Nolans write and direct, Michele Gondry flicks, the Simpsons, Arrested Development (RIP), Strangers with Candy (TV series), American Beauty, Apocalypse Now, Miller's Crossing,
I just rewatched American Beauty yesterday. I forgot to list it as one of my favorite, but it is, absolutely, one of them.
Also, Arrested Development? I was actually mildly clinically depressed when Fox dropped it, Showtime flirted with picking it up, but then the writer decided he didn't want to write it anymore.
Never has there been a more clever, less-watched, show on television. Typical American viewers. Always viewing the wrong stuff...
Evelyn, Rehoboth is a very popular spot. I don't know why so many Delawareans go to the Outer Banks when there are great beaches here. It's not like they "get away"--they run into the same people in the grocery store down there as they do up here! I will look into your doggie mystery! We so love all the sighthound breeds.
Hi - Thanks for the welcome! You live in Delaware now?? I've rented at Rehoboth for years! Love the bookstore on Rehoboth Avenue - great mystery section.
And for a quick, hopefully graceful segue :-)... speaking about dogs - please visit my web site, www.evelyndavid.com, for a sneak peek of my mystery, "Murder Off the Books," and some delightful photos of Whiskey, the four-footed pal of the hero. "Murder Off the Books" has a story to "die for," characters you'll love, humor to make you laugh out loud, and an adorable and adored Irish Wolfhound.
Thanks for the welcome! Evelyn
Hi Mary, Thanks for the friend add. Looking forward to getting to know you. BTW -- I just spoke in Alabama recently and just LOVED the warmth of the people down there. Cyndy

Cyndy, Alabamians can be delightful people. When they don't have their heads you-know-where.
