Where have I been?

Well I wish I could say that I've been globe-trotting to India and Europe or even Naples, Florida. The truth is that I've been sitting at this damned computer night and day for the past 14 months trying to think of something to write about. No such luck. Even now, not 15 minutes ago I had a thought about a monkey, a rotten banana and my estranged sisters being force-fed Jell-o by a turban wearing Bill Cosby. But now I can't remember what I was going to say. Damn.

Maybe it'll be 14 more months,… Continue

News Flash

Federal officials this morning have detained three young boys and their dog on charges of conspiracy and "miscellanderoustypically" conduct.

The boys, ranging in age from eight to ten, and their dog, Parsnip, aged five (35 human years and purportedly the organizer of the fiasco) were found to be "trotting" too quickly down the road on their Razr scooters before running into a man, the elderly Mr. Whelstone, aged 118, fracturing the man's fibula and

In case you missed it...

In case you missed it.

AP - New Haven Connecticut

Did you hear about the new letter? It's called "Melaproptia," and was discovered during a cocktail party early last year in an obscure Central American village.

Its validity is currently under debate because Ms. Melaproptia is a noted Prave addict. (Prave is an illegal hallucinagenic substance found in gum trees of the genus 'marunius celebex.' It is most commonly

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

You might enjoy Michael Martone. He wrote a very funny parody of a travel guide, THE BLUE GUIDE TO INDIANA. He also writes fiction, short stories, non-fiction, essays, etc. Teaches creative writing at UAB, Birmingham.

Sorry, I'm just now getting around to thanking you for the invite. I write some short stories--some very short! And also some poetry. I'm not published--just trying some stuff out. Everyone I know would have to be dead before I could publish--assuming I would get published!

I like your writing. Just saw David Sedaris a month ago. One of my favorites, too, Just isn't listed. One of the and many, many more...

This certainly is a good site for writers. I don't post a lot on the forums but follow a few and they are very interesting and informative. Mysteries are my favourite genre so here is hoping you tackle one someday. Try looking up Linwood -- he latest is just out and it is supposed to be very good although also different from his earlier books (they were more funny, this is apparently dark).

You know, you might be interested in Stuart MacBride. He's a little...offbeat. His website is www.stuartmacbride.com-he's also a member here but I don't know how active he is. He's interesting. In a crazy way.

I am still rather curious as to why your friend pointed you here? You do not list mysteries really as something you like a lot (not that I mind have non-mystery folk around, my entire book group is non-mystery folk who are being drawn to the dark side by a couple of die hard murder fans).

My website is www.johnmorganwilson.com. However, I haven't posted any new writing in years. Perhaps I'll have my webmaster add the first chapter of my new book, due out next year. Otherwise, I believe there are a couple of chapters from some of my early novels.
