I really enjoyed it, as much as I've enjoyed anything this year. Fresh style, interesting characters and great story. Don't expect serial killers and cantankerous detecitves... do expect an investment in a great new character Jill Shadow and a book that increases with pace…

Having got into John Grisham novels some time ago I am always on the lookout for UK authors who write similar sories about crime and the law, and how it often lets people down.
Any recommendations for Britsh 'legal' fiction?

Hi Sally! Love Val McDermid as well, although Grisham (for me) has become rather tedious. Just finished "All He Saw Was the Girl" by Peter Leonard, who lives in the 'other' Birmingham - on this side of the Pond, and Barbara Cleverly's latest "Not My Blood" and recommend them both. Will keep you up to date with the galleys I have yet to finish...some awfully good reading coming out of GB these days I think!
