Eric, in my fourth mystery, Gator Creek (2010 release), I kill off a major character, but not my protagonist. I think you may be the first I'm aware of who knocked off the protag. Interesting, indeed.
The hand wrapped around my throat, the long nails on its fingers cut my skin. I screamed. I could hear myself screaming. I snatched out of the fingers’ grip and fell. Fell a long way. Then the dirt hit my face. I was being buried alive! I scrambled sideways when I realized there… Continue
I remain cyberspace challenged. I didn't realize I could "stop by" and interact with people when the interview was up. But I did receive a lot of emails and figured that was the way it worked. Thanks again for a great job.
Great job on the interview. The way you edited and arranged it made it significantly better than what I sent. As we used to say in Texas, you made a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
I've received many emails about it, so you obviously have a following!
My sister designed that. I should put up my photo. I finally broke down and paid for a professional photo. The photo of me in the backyard taken by my husband with the new camera he got for Christmas really just didn't cut the mustard!
Hi Susan,
Hope this works. I've used the buttons above the "Leave a Comment for Susan Whitfield" to attach Word document with short bio and Q/A part, another one is the blurb, then I added the cover picture.

Book Synopsis:
The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.
Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.
The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.
