I attended a MacMillan Publishers christmas highlights presentation this evening. Imagine my surprise when they asked ME up to talk about Ken Folletts new book 'World without End'. It seems I was the only person in the region to get a reading copy. Well, I am not good at talking to crowds and especially when I haven't had time to prepare. When I sat down I realised I hadn't actually told them anything about the book except I loved it, it was a saga, had lots of sex in it and was crying out for a…

Thanks for the invitation. Let me issue a disclaimer right off the bat: I'm not a crime writer per se. I have yet to find a genre that allows me the freedom to say what I want to say. The crime and murder genre fills that need better than most.
I'm currently up to my elbows in two projects. One is espionage, tying Islamic terrorism to the illegal alien issue. The second is an old style western, with a bit of a murder mystery inside, as well as a paranormal twist.
I'll soon be posting a short story, based on the western novel, to get some feedback.
Barbara and I are retired. I assumed (really bad word) we would have time to communicate with friends and travel. Guess what! Didn't happen. Our writing projects keep us cooped up in a 12 by 14 office poring over our writings.
What a great way to spend retirement!
Please accept my invitation here. I'm sure your experience in the industry will be a great benefit to your fellow crimespace members. Hopefully, it'll be reciprocal.
I'm inviting my crimespace friends, among a few others, to have a free read of my completed novel, FOUL SHOT, before attempting to publish it, maybe get some feedback. It should be up on my site in a few days, if I can get the computer thing worked out(I'm a dummy). If not, feel free to email me at my personal address, coastar2002@yahoo.com, and I'll send it over as a document.
A brief synopsis is posted on the site, too.
Welcome and thanks.
The Road To Hell is finished but because I was blind for a good four months I was late and fell behind. I will let you know when it is coming out. I am now on with Thorn In My Side. A few weeks ago a comment in a newspaper made me smile, (Great books but there are more murders in Houghton le spring than there are in Midsummer)
so I thought time to take the whole Seahills gang on a holiday, So book no, six is set in the fantastic location of Holy Island. A hell of a lot went on there in the islands past, and it means I can escape from my desk to do research. Really it is only about an hour and fifty minutes away. But well worth going to if you are over here again Linda. When I get a date for The Road To Hell I will send you some more book marks for your customers.

Always interested in travelers. On a cruise this past spring had 4 New Zealanders as table mates. Loved them. Book buyer? Hmmm. Was at Powell's Books (very large books store in Oregon, used and new) and was selling a few oldies. I was there when their book scots were in. The idea facinated me. It keeps binging around in the brain pan as a book idea. Patg
Good to see you here!
