Have just finished New Zealand author, Paul Cleaves new book, Cemetery Lake. Once again I am blown away by this guys talent. His characters are brilliant, the plots flawless, his writing style spot-on. I am making it my top priority to increase his sales in his own country, instead of leaving it to Germany to make him a best seller. He ranks up there with all the top crime writers and I cannot wait to see what else he has to offer.

There really aren't that many crime authors writing here in NZ, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover Paul Cleave. His debut novel "The Cleaner" is first class and although not a big seller here..yet, is huge in Germany (they know good crime) His character Joe is unique in that he is a serial killer who pretends to be slightly retarded. I attended a MacMillan Publishers christmas highlights presentation this evening. Imagine my surprise when they asked ME up to talk about Ken Folletts new book 'World without End'. It seems I was the only person in the region to get a reading copy. Well, I am not good at talking to crowds and especially when I haven't had time to prepare.
