I will find time to write!

It dawned on me tonight that in January okay , it was New Years Eve. I vowed and declared I would spend more time writing and much less time cleaning, washing, etc you know all that fun stuff. But here we are in June and I haven't as yet achieved as much writing as I wanted to. So consequently, I have decided to make a Half Years Resolution to write, write, write and write. Perhaps the lack of alcohol involved tonight will help me keep this one : ) Here's to hoping. Will let you know about my… Continue

Thanks for the well-wishes. Very much appreciated.

I see you are writing your first novel. I wish you all the best with it. I found I couldn't have written my first without the support and resourses available at on online writer's forum. I have just blogged about a couple if you are interested in having a look. Just pop on over to my Blog for the details (http://jjcooperaus.blogspot.com/). Again, all the best with your writing.

I'm lucky to know Luisa and have read all of her Grace Marsden, including the newest one which came out last fall. The Rosary Bride is the first, followed by The Lion Tame, The Station Master, The Scout Master and The Lighthouse Keeper. I was also fortunate to take a Master Class with Lee Child at Love Is Murder this past February. Nice man and great writer :o) I enjoyed the writing assignments too. Sometimes I think they acted as little shoves in the right direction. Now I have to give myself deadlines or I don't do as much as I should. I'm off to work now, but keep me posted on your classes and such. Sounds like we share some of the same interests (like Elliott Stabler). Have a good one :o)

On another matter, an American woman writer, Taylor Caldwell, typed with her child at her feet, had her return postage stolen by house to which she submitted and still persevered to best sellerdom. Where there's a will, as they say.

Was Manly in NSW, although I did scuba the Great Barrier Reef is Qld. Best to enjoy the reefs before we kill them all. But don't get me going on that.

Welcome! I'm working on my second mystery. The first one, edited but not reworked is sitting in a box under my PC. One of my secondary characters took over the action and now I'm considering doing it from her POV. I've taken a couple courses but also gone to several conferences and workshops that give me a chance to meet excellent people like Lee Lofland and Anne Perry and take copious notes! This is a great site. I've been absent lately due to my self-imposed deadline but I'll be around more and would love to share experiences with you.

sydney, 2000. Olympic games and Heron Island for scuba.Loved the place and people. An old classmate of mine lives in Manly and we met. It is a wonderful land. Bill Bryson's book A Sunburnt Country is an interesting take.

That's exactly how it happens with me, so I guess we're both on the right track because lots of my writer friends say that it happens to them as well. I always thought you had to write in order, but it just isn't so! In fact, I love fitting the pieces together! I am having so much fun with this that I'll almost be sorry to have it end.

What am I thinking? It doesn't have to end! All I need to do is start another book, right? Writing is so much fun!

See you soon,

Hi! I wish I could take the credit for the artwork, but a friend of mine found it for me (I don't know who actually drew it) and she put my name on one and my twin sister's on one exactly like it.) She thought it looked a lot like our senior high school picture and that's why she used it.

You and I have a lot in common. We're both working on our first book and we're both taking a writing course. I wish you great success with your book. I was just wondering: are you using an outline? Do you write from start to finish or do you seem to jump around? Did you write the ending first? I hope I'm not being too nosy--I'm just curious what you're writing is like.

For the first time, I decided to use an outline. I think I rather like it. This is my first big project, so it really helps to keep it organized. I also have not been writing in order. I've been jumping around, which really surprised me.

Oh well...maybe we can share writing experiences.
Talk to you later,
