Ray Connor gets more than he bargained for when a mobster named Tomas Papadopoulos, aka Tommy P, hires him to find a vintage MGA for his girlfriend, Candy Marlowe. Connor finds the MGA, but then the car disappears along with Candy and the quarterback who sold it to her turns up dead. Connor finds himself between a rock and a hard place when the cops want to know what his prints are doing on the murder weapon and Tommy holds him responsible for Candy’s disappearance. Meanwhile, a woman who knows more about Candy than anyone has just gotten out of prison. And she wants to pick up where they left off.
THE GIRL IN THE MGAtag:crimespace.ning.com,2012-03-20:537324:BlogPost:3345402012-03-20T16:05:42.000ZRobert Batyhttp://crimespace.ning.com/profile/RobertBaty

Just completed the manuscript for THE GIRL IN THE MGA, the sequel to VINTAGE CONNOR. The book will be out in April 2012 from RJ Buckley. I'm thrilled and exhausted, and also experiencing some kind of postpartum feeling.

“Kick off your shoes and prepare to stay up all night, because when Robert Baty gets his hands on you, you won’t put this novel down. Baty has voice and his hero has attitude, and VINTAGE CONNOR is one hell of a ride.”

Although we never meet the Blonde, we know enough about her as the story winds up to want to have been her protector as well as save all the other young girls out there who succumb to the merciless thrills of the rich. Her mother is convinced she was murdered, didn't commit suicide, and will do anything to prove it. Ex-detective Connor will do anything to help the mother solve the mystery now that she is back into his life after twenty years. Even if it means a murder coverup, he's willing do some proving to himself. A page-turner, to the end. Those I know who have read it, love it. We're looking forward to the next one, Mr. Baty.
