The police identified the woman as the twenty-four year

old dancer-performer, Mlle Ricky Bower.… Continue

Another Cool Review

I like to share comments about my work. Today I'd like to introduce Romas Laskauska. I signed a copy of The Troubleshooter for Romas at a recent book signing at the Borders in Baltimore Washington International Airport. He later wrote to say why he liked the book and that he had ordered two more of my novels. He also asked in what order he should read them.

My novels…

Promoting Your Work

Writing is hard work; but, marketing what you write is even harder. Writers are usually solitary creatures by nature, and hitting the hustings to promote their work is like a trip to the dentist. But, like that trip to the dentist, as painful as it might be it's beneficial. Nay, it's essential. You can write the best book in the world, and if it's not marketed, it will be unread - except for your long-suffering spouse or significant other.

So, how do you go about marketing…

The Latest

Because of some schedule confusion my book signing at Borders in Largo MD wasn't as successful as it could have been, but I did sign a few books and make a few new friends and fans. Don't worry, I'll return there soon, we'll be more organized and it will be a much better time.

Much more successful was the dinner/book club meeting I attended. As a guest at the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority's Arts & Letters End of Year Program, I got to have a fine dinner with 18…

Mom Replaced by Free Download

It happens every year.

In May, every major school project is due all in the same week. Now that Tristan is in middle school, it is worse than before and I don’t see it getting any better as he goes into high school and then off to college.

Don’t get me wrong. For the last… Continue

The brigade commanders told their regional chiefs that all the police work and house-to-house fighting of the intifada had made their troops ill-prepared for a real war. “If we had to fight in Lebanon, my men wouldn’t know what they were doing,” shouted one.

In 2006,…

Back from my appearance at Crimefest 2010

A boiling hot day in England (the first of the year) and being closeted inside a stuffy Marriott Hotel in Bristol was not the best place to be. But Crimefest, an international convention of crime writers and crime fiction fans, beckoned on 21 May 2010 and I was delighted to be asked to appear on a panel with other crime writers to talk about my crime novels and answer questions from the delegates.

I met my fellow crime writers; J.D. Goodhind, Neil White, Linda Regan…
