I've uploaded a new video. In it I discuss the inspiration behind my fast-paced crime thriller novel, In Cold Daylight. I'm also reading the prologue from the novel.
Here is a short blurb about In Cold Daylight- there is…

I’m often asked this question. Who would play Inspector Andy Horton if there was a film or television series made of my Marine Mysteries. It’s quite a tricky question to answer in a way because my view of the actor to play Andy Horton might not fit with yours.
Andy Hort…

BBC Radio Solent called today to ask me if I would be happy to be featured as one of ‘Julian’s People’ to follow throughout 2009. Of course I jumped at the chance. Julian Clegg presents a very lively radio programme from 6.30am to 9.30am every weekday.
“It may be Julian and the team of reporters, travel, weather and sport presenters behind the mic, but it's 'Julian's People' who really make BBC Radio Solent's breakfast show the South's favourite.
Julian’s show has introduced a range of charact…

Here it is, the jacket cover for the NEW Inspector Horton Marine Mystery - Dead Man's Wharf- the fourth in the series. It will be published on 30 April 2009. It looks pretty sinister to me and I hope you like it. Let me know what you think.

I have just finished going through the copy-edit proofs for DEAD MAN'S WHARF, the new DI Andy Horton marine mystery crime novel due to be published in hardback on 29 April 2009. There weren't any revisions to the manuscript thank goodness and only a few small alterations but this is a task that I am not overly fond of. Why? Because I have an irresistible urge to keep changing what I have written. I always think I could improve a word here, a sentence or a paragraph there, but this is often becau…

I have set my Marine Mystery crime novels on the south coast of England where the sea becomes the backdrop to murder, treachery, deceit, betrayal, evil and revenge. They feature the flawed and rugged detective DI Andy Horton. He’s tough as a container ship, having dredg…

It's always a pleasure to do radio interviews, especially if you're having a bad hair day, and if you need to get up before the crack of dawn to arrive at the studio on time and haven't put on much make-up, or had a caffeine fix. Why? Because, of course, you've guess…

The two are so interlinked that it is impossible to say, well for me at least. This week has been a fairly clear week so I thought I'd crack on with the new Inspector Horton novel. The idea for the novel came easily, based on something I'd been told - more than that I can't say otherwise I'll give the game away. Beginning to turn the idea into a workable plot started w…
