Dana King Are You Going to Believe Me, or Your Private Eyes?

(Also posted in One Bite at a Time.) I’ve been lucky over the past few weeks to have read three books that reminded me why I got interested in crime fiction and writing in the first place: first person private investigator stories. Libby Fischer Hellmann’s Easy Innocence takes the attitudes of an affluent suburb and shows consequences not often considered. Her detective, Georgia D… Continue

robert walker Noir interview and reunion with JA 'Joquin Phoenix' Konrath aka Jack Kilborn

JA Konrath & Jack Kilborn Cornered By Rob Walker (an interview and a reunion) Today my Friday the 13th blog at Acme Authors Link dared welcome the indomitable JA Konrath to our humble niche of the internet. Konrath is the author of six thrillers in the Jack Daniels series, all named after drinks. He’s also got a new book coming out, a horror novel, under the pen name Jack Kilborn, called Afraid. You can visit him at http://www.jakonrath.com/. I stalked suspense-thriller writer JA Konrath… Continue

Peg Herring Missing in Action

We've been without the internet for several days, which is always traumatic. The good news upon coming back is that I've learned that MACBETH'S NIECE will be published in large print in April. That's a good thing because as a "sweet" romance, it appeals to people who might need a bit of help eyesight-wise. Still, being "isolated" from web friends and colleagues is nerve-wracking. What am I missing, what should I be doing, who's trying to contact me? I'm currently doing a tiny-tour of Wisconsin,… Continue

Doug M. Cummings Trashy People, Trashy Topics But One Helluva Good Movie

I could care less if a faded and jaded country star ever had an affair (while underage or at any time) with a big time baseball player. If a teenage Disney sensation slaps her fans in the face by posing for a trashy cover on a national magazine. It makes no difference to me if flashy actresses and kinky socialites flame out on drugs and booze or if an actor in a respected crime series tanks his career with heroin and a pharmacopia of other substances. Frankly, none of those stories merits any lo… Continue
