New review of Russian Roulette

Russian Roulette has been gathering nice reviews and one of them has leaped from Amazon.com to my web site.

When I got my review copies of Russian Roulette I didn’t just send them to the usual magazines and newspapers. I also asked several of the influential Amazon.com reviewers to take a look. The mysterious Apoem down in New Mexico accepted my offer of an advance review copy and has now posted a very glowing review on the book’s page at Amazon.

Apoem said some very nice… Continue

Beating expectations

As late as Saturday morning I worried that my book release party for Russian Roulette might not come off as planned, but thanks to lots of friends and supporters and my event-planning spouse everything happened exactly as it should have. It was wasted worry. Just like my dad used to say, it's always darkest before dawn.

So if you're going to steal your neighbor's newspaper, that's the time to do it

ALL the news on the Russian Roulette release

The release party for Russian Roulette was all I hoped for and more. The historic Farr House proved to be the perfect location for such an event. The food was great and there were some very good bottles of wine present. But much more important were the friends, coworkers, and fellow authors who turned out to share the occasion – and the very cool cake - with me. It was the most fun a writer was could.

But the second most fun for authors is getting together with other wordsmiths.… Continue

Today's event and new review

Today I’m part of a Virginia Writers Club book signing at Busboys & Poets from 4 pm to 6 pm - 4251 S Campbell Ave, Arlington Va.

AND I have a new review. I met Bob Miller at a bookstore signing and as I recall he wanted to start reading at the beginning of the Hannibal Jones legend, so I signed a copy of The Troubleshooter for him. He e-mailed me a short time ago, and his message almost made me blush. Thank you, Bob, for your kind words. They were enough to make your short note… Continue

Meet Me Tomorrow at the Book Release Party!

Tomorrow I will host the official release party for the fifth Hannibal Jones Mystery, Russian Roulette. My lovely wife Denise has made arrangements for a very classy affair at the Farr House in Fairfax, Va. The venue often plays host to weddings, bridal showers and fancy luncheons, but once in a while they let an author in. This Colonial Revival style home in the heart of Fairfax has been party central in these parts since the Farrs’ marriage ceremony in 1915. It was updated in 2001 but retains… Continue

Blog Tour and Live Event!

The Russian Roulette blog tour continues today at Slendah's Author Interviews .

And in just 2 days I'll know whether or not my efforts to create local buzz about Russian Roulette have had any effect. Saturday's book release party could be a spectacular success or an abysmal failure. It's doubly important because the party will be an indictor of how well I can expect to do at the first bookstore event, at the Borders Superstore in Waldorf… Continue

Blog Touring

The official Russian Roulette blog tour now has 13 stops, and reads like a compendium of the best web sites for mystery lovers. Content will be different on each of these cool sites but listing them all here would give us both a headache. So I've listed them all on my web site.
