Another Cool Review

I like to share feedback I get on my novels. Today I want to introduce you to Caroline Quinn.

I met Caroline at a book signing at Atlantic Books in Rehoboth Beach, DE back in August. She got a signed copy of Russian Roulette and when she wrote to me not long ago she said she enjoyed it. Having worked in Russian and in Washington she had a good feel for the book. She also asked who would play Hannibal on screen. Well I hope Shemar Moore (Morgan on Criminal Minds) is listening, because… Continue

It's never too soon to laugh

I was on track for an on-time arrival at Borders Express Saturday but an accident shut down the beltway – all lanes. Like a contestant on Who Wants to be a Millionaire I used one of my lifelines, a friend who worked map magic to guide me to an alternate route. I was grievously late, but it was the kind of situation I knew would make a funny story some day, so I just laughed it off.

After all, if you’re going to be able to look back on something and laugh about it, you may as well… Continue

The Latest

The last couple of days have been busy but very good for promoting my writing. It started Friday at the Waldenbooks in Chesapeake, VA. After that book signing I took a short drive to Virginia Beach where I had a particularly good evening book signing at Barnes and Noble.

After taking some time to enjoy the sights of Virginia Beach I moved north Sunday to the Borders Express in the Owings Mills Town Center. After two nice Virginia signings, it was nice to have a good one in MD to… Continue

Another Cool Review

I recently got a review from my friend Sandra, who writes under the pen name B. Swangin Webster.

I met Sandra some months ago when we signed books at the same store. She picked up a copy of Blood and Bone and promised to share her opinion. But as sometimes happens, she was swamped by all the events she attended promoting her first urban romance novel, “… Continue

Why?

Useful appliances usually have names that reflect their purposes. Dish washers and toasters come to mind. But hot water doesn’t need heating. So why isn't it called a cold water heater?

Author Update

I had a successful book signing at the Waldenbooks in Cumberland MD, which the manager described as “a little off the beaten path.” She gambled and ordered a big stack of The Troubleshooter in hard cover, and they all sold.

Also, my guest shot on Madame Mayo’s blog posted a couple days ago. Her blog combines literary subjects with an international flavor, so I… Continue

I like to share feedback I get on my novels. Today I want to introduce you to Grace Ramsey.

I never got to meet Grace, but her daughters found me at a book signing and bought her one of my novels as a birthday present. As it turns out, Grace has turned into a fan of my work.

Since she was kind enough to send an e-mail complimenting my books I've used her comments as this week's featured review on my web site - http://www.ascamacho.com… Continue

Happy Veterans Day

I’m sure you’ll read a lot this month from people expressing what they’re thankful for. Today I want to express my gratitude for those men and women who have guaranteed my right to write whatever I want. Free speech and a free press may be concepts in the Constitution, but they are only rights because they are preserved by our service members. As we all know, freedom is never free.

Veterans Day was declared a national holiday to help us remember those warriors. We often focus on… Continue

Author Update

The highlight of my writer’s weekend was Saturday’s lunch at the Virginia Writers Club annual meeting. I was flattered and honored to receive a superior achievement award for my work establishing the Northern Virginia chapter. It was a labor of love, but it IS nice to have my work recognized by my peers.

The other high point was my book signing at the Borders Express in White Marsh Mall later that day. The store had great customers and a great manager, and I’ll get back there for… Continue
