Meet Me in Monday in VA

Monday I will take my novels to the Epicure Cafe. This art-friendly venue offers good food, beer and wine, and great events like Monday's Beatniks & Butterflies. I'll be the featured author at this event, reading, discussing and signing my novels. You can also expect…

Happy Thanksgiving!

On Thanksgiving day we should think of those who started the tradition. According to H.U. Westermayer the Pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts. No Americans have been more impoverished than these who, nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving. In their honor, let's make this more than that day when gluttony becomes a patriotic duty, and remember that grace isn't just a little prayer you chant before receiving a meal. It's a way to live.

Another Cool Review

Don Collier is the current president of the Northern Virginia chapter of the Virginia Writer's Club. As

such he is the driving force behind a most impressive cadre of aspiring, emerging and established authors and I am proud to be among them. Don also recently read my novel The Troubleshooter and was kind enough to send me his impressions. I appreciated his taking the time, and made his comments the

featured review on my web site -…

Author Update

Veterans Day weekend was a great time for me at the Northern Virginia Christmas Market! Not only did I sign a record number of books, but I managed to do some of my most important Christmas shopping. I also met book club members who invited me to their meetings, and folks who invited me to sign books at their luncheon. If I didn't see you there, well we're both sorry! http://www.ascamacho.com

Veterans Day

Today I want to remind you that this nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave. That freedom is never free. And that we often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude. Let's make sure our veterans never feel their sacrifices are taken for granted.

Meet Me at the Northern VA Christmas Market

Wondering what to do with this three-day weekend? Why not join me and about 300 artisans at the Northern Virginia Christmas Market? They'll offer a diverse selection of fine arts, pottery, jewelry, stained glass, wood, photography, fiber arts and Christmas collectibles. Plus, 20 food vendors will offer gift-packaged gourmet fare such as almond pound cakes, holiday cookies, spicy salsas, fudge-by-the-pound, fruit cakes, sparkling cider and homemade jams and jellies. These tasty homemade goodies… Continue

Another Great Review

I last saw Dennis LaRaja at George Mason University where I did a reading as part of the Fall for the Book

event. He was one of the first people to buy The Piranha Assignment and later wrote to say that he gets great pleasure and comfort being with my characters Morgan Stark and Felicity O'Brien. In fact he commented that he would probably enjoy reading about them doing their laundry or some other mundane chore for a few chapters just to be with them and listen to…

Writer visit to College

You never know what will happen when you go to a book signing. Last week at the Northern Virginia Community College I got into deep discussions with students about the art and craft of writing fiction. And bookstore manager Verity and I laid the groundwork for several future possibilities: author panels at the school, a writing lecture series, and even an effort to produce a Hannibal Jones play. I expect to spend a lot of time at the Alexandria Campus in the future.… Continue

Another Cool Review

John Berten is one of the reviewers who received an advance readers copy of The Piranha Assignment. He

had some very positive things to say about my novel, and posted them on Amazon.com. It was the first reader review of The Piranha Assignment posted there. What makes it really cool is that what John

Berten
posted is a video review. Take a look!… Continue
