Well, I’m done with the Boucher book. Finished, completed, done, over and out. The files are ready to be printed and sent off for the laborious process of making it a book. I’m still getting used to the feeling. It’s a bit odd to be without the book after so long.
I’ve found myself wandering around the house a lot today. Going into a room and forgetting what I came in for. I’m sure I’ll adjust to non-deadline time again shortly, but for the moment, I’m feeling a bit guilty about not sitting at the keyboard checking facts and adding anecdotes to the book.
Fortunately, I have a wonderful spouse who had the kindness and foresight to buy me a new recliner a few weeks ago. It’s set up with a table and a reading lamp behind it, and a stack of paperbacks that I’ve been meaning to get to. So I’ve been working my way through those. It’s been fun. I’m on my 3rd book this week (it is spring break by the way.) I can relax, prop up my legs and be taken off to someone else’s world for a while.
I’ll be putting up some reviews when I get time, but for the moment, I’m reveling (and freaking out at) the new found freedom. I’m sure I’ll be back at it in a few weeks, but for the moment, I’m relaxing.
