BOY STILL MISSING – VG Searles, John – Stand alone – Novel

This is a vivid blue-collar coming-of-age story with more than the usual supply of plot twists: abductions, abortion, adoption, alcoholism, media frenzies and extramarital affairs, which contribute first vim, then tragedy, to the 16th year in the life of Dominick Pindle.

This had been sitting on my shelf for over 2 years when, quite prepared not to like it, I began to read. How wrong was I! Although I had to remind myself of Dominick’s age, which contributed to his decisions, I found myself thoroughly engrossed in the story, aching for the character and wanting more specifics as to what happened to him as he grew. I particularly enjoyed Searles style and look forward to reading more by him.
