Wow, what a lovely way to start a Sunday. I just looked at the Amazon.co.uk sales rankings and discovered that the Kindle edition of A Study in Red is at #1 in the 'Jack the Ripper' Thriller Book Category, with the paperback edition not far behind at #3. What a double! The chart is at at http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/search
In the equivalent chart at Amazon.com in the USA the book is at #5 whilst the first of its sequels Legacy of the Ripper stands just behind it at #6.
The book is currently in development for the silver screen by Thunderball International Films LLC in collaboration with Northbank Entertainment (UK).

About the book

A Study in Red - The Secret Journal of Jack the Ripper by Brian L Porter tells the story of Robert Cavendish, a modern day psychiatrist who is
bequeathed a strange set of papers which purport to be the journal of
the long-dead infamous Whitechapel Murderer whose crimes gripped the
hearts and minds and instilled terror on the streets of Victorian
London. As he begins to read the journal, Robert becomes convinced of
it's authenticity and finds that the words of the Ripper have a strange
and compelling effect on him. Unable to cast the pages aside he finds
himself being drawn into the dark and sinister world of the killer until
he is unable to distinguish what is fact and what is fantasy. In short,
Robert Cavendish begins to feel as though he is being taken over in
some way by the soul of the long-dead Ripper. What happens as he
progresses through the journal will disturb and shock the reader as the
close dividing line between sanity and madness is explored to the full.

A Review

5.0 out of 5 stars
A Study in Red,
This review is from: A Study in Red: The Secret Journal of Jack the Ripper (Paperback)

I received this book late afternoon on a Friday and completed it in the
afternoon on the following day. Talk about not being able to put a book
down! This is extremely well written, and the tremendous amount of
research the writer did really shows. It is as if he got into a time
machine and traveled back to that time with a tape recorder and took
notes. The language, the locations, the details - frighteningly
accurate.

This is a whole new perspective on the subject of Jack The Ripper, which includes the feelings and perceptions of the killer himself. I would strongly recommend A Study in Red to anyone who is fascinated with
this long-unsolved mystery or to anyone who is looking for a story that
will absolutely captivate its reader. Superior job.
