Yes, I get nervous when the edited MS arrives. Mind you, I've had one editor who didn't edit. When I asked for editing, I was told that my book was fine as it was and didn't need it. B.S.!
My next editor didn't understand mysteries and cut 9 pages that contained the explanation of the murder. After that hassle, she turned the next MS over to the copy editor and signed off on her remarks. They were even more frustrating.
Thank God, I now have a good editor with respect for the genre. I love to get her comments.
