Don’t Look Back is my first read with this author. The novel is the second book of the Women of Justice series. Is it Chick Lit totally? I think not. Here is the synopsis from
the back cover: “Twelve years ago, forensic anthropologist Jamie Cash survived
a brutal kidnapping. After years of therapy, she has made a life for herself-
though one that is haunted by memories of her terrifying past. She finally lets
herself believe that she can have a close relationship with a man, when signs
start appearing that point to one frightening fact- her attacker is back and
ready to finish the job he started all those years ago. Can she escape his
grasp a second time? And will she ever be able to let down her guard enough to
find true love?”

This and many more questions will be answered in the pages of this novel. I just enjoyed the way Lynette Eason mixed murder, intrigue, action, romance and a bit of her passion for her religion in this novel. Did
the last part and the inclusion of it not fit and turn me off. Quite the
opposite, I thought it fit well and was woven into the fabric of the novel seamlessly.
It was not a focus, but an element as was the rest. The tightrope she walked, balancing
all the elements in the novel gave me a deep respect for her ability as a
writer. The ending was a nice surprise, a bit twisted, and for me unexpected. I
will gladly make time for anything she writes.

Revell Publishing has a winner here and I am sure they know it. Lynette Eason is the author of ten novels (I have some catching up to do), including Too Close to Home, and is a member of American Christian Fiction
Writers (ACFW) and Romance Writers of America (RWA). If you are looking for a
change of pace, some good action and a nice mystery with a bit of a twist, then
you should give this novel a try. Put it in your Goodreads or Shelfari -to read-
list at the very least. Have you had the pleasure of reading one of her novels
yet? If so which one? Give me a suggestion and I will try that one first.
