Stan . . . How nice to connect with you through CrimeSpace. My gosh, we set our stories in the same time period -- the 1940s, '50s, and '60s. Mine are in Kansas and Tennessee.

Hi Stan - happy to "friend" you. The best advice I've heard is to find interesting things to talk about online that tie in with the subject matter of your book, but to be careful not to come across too heavy-handed in making a sales pitch, as it can turn people off.

Thanks for the friendship.
As someone who has yet to break double digits in followers on twitter, I may not be the best source of advice on social networking, except to say that you're on the right path with your website.

Hello and welcome! I just wanted to introduce myself, and my blog, The Book Buff: Book Reviews for Regular People. Check it out at

There is always a giveaway going on at The Book Buff, click on the book title for more info:

The Aristobrats by best selling author Jennifer Solow (YA girl)

The Island (audiobook) by New York Times best seller Elin Hilderbrand (Women's Contemporary Fiction)

Texas Roads by Cathy Bryant (Christian Fiction/Romance)

It can be a bit overwhelming around here at first, so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
