Hi, Eoin (don't know that I've seen that spelling before. Interesting!). Thanks for adding me to your Friend list. I don't get to CrimeSpace very often, but it's always nice to meet a fellow mystery writer.

Thanks for friending me, Eoin. I was reading about your book - The Truth, It Lies, and looking forward to read. Having lived in CA for years, I love LA stories. My agent has begun the process of sending my first novel out to publishers (a historical spy thriller set in Eastern Europe), so cross your fingers for me.

Hi Eoin, Thank you for friending me. It would seem that Hollywood history is a hot topic these days. I'm working on a story set in the silent film era, with my great uncle who worked at Metro. I can't wait to read your book, "The Truth, it Lies."

Thanks for the friends request. I followed the links on your website to the preview of your new book The Truth, it Lies. It sounds like an intriguing premise; the blacklist period was a fascinating part of Hollywood history. Since I am also writing about a slice of Hollywood history myself, the early 70's, I will be sure to read your novel upon its release.

I actually met one of the Hollywood Ten, Ring Lardner Jr., just before his death. I was a young, starving writer selling cars to the Hollywood set at the time, and he was a neighbor of the owner of the dealership. I drove out to Ring Jr's Encino home to deliver his new car, and asked him if he was related to Ring Lardner, Sr. -- a friend of Hemingway & Fitzgerald. He beamed at the recognition. Ring Jr. told that he remembered the wild parties and drunken card games that his father, Fitzgerald, and Hemingway would have in Ring Sr.s household. We debated literary criticism of The Great Gatsby, shook hands and parted ways. It was only later that I found out that Ring Jr. was one of the Hollywood Ten and that he wrote the scripts for Laura and MASH. That's my little slice of blacklist Hollywood history...
