Jon,
Thanks for kind words about NIGHT FERRY. I love Amsterdam and enjoyed writing those sections. I was also really fortunate to have a great guide, Joep de Groot, who was also John Irving's go-to man when he was researching 'Widow for One Year' and 'When I Find Him.' I know fiction writers shouldn't admit us much, but the Hokke character in the book is shamlessly based on Joep, with no attempt made to hide the fact. His wife thinks I captured him perfectly, which is flattering.
Love Crimespree. Keep up the great work.
Michael
Hiya Jon. Ah, I'm sorry for disrupting your schedule and your sleep ... except I'm not, really. Glad you liked it, if that's the right word, and thanks for the comments, which are really encouraging while I'm tearing my hair out over that 'more' bit. You can see in the photo that most of it's gone. Cheers, Steve.
Hey you! What's the big idea making cracks on my chatterspace about my blogging?? But thanks because hardly anyone wants to chatter at me apparently OR read my blog. Such as it is.
What can I say? I have a day job. And that reminds me, you haven't called in a while. Let's chat one day =) Got my new number?
John, Thank God I've got friends all over. One is getting me a sgned copy of C. Johnson's book, and another (I hope) is getting me a copy of R. Hawke's new book.
There goes my grocery money. I should have moved up by you and Ruth, they all show up there sometime or other. geeezzzzzz
I've seen it coming for some time. Cocaine is no damn good for anybody.
The future. .

I have 60 tons of Thai stick coming in.
It's on the way.

I just got the latest Crimespree -- a GREAT issue with, coincidentally, a GREAT review of our new book! How cool is that?

Actually, issue 17 is in the mail and should be in your mailbox really soon.
If you lived near Ruth and I you wouldn't have to buy so many books.
We'd give you a Crimespree Library Card
