Well, at least statewide neighbors. I live near Elizabeth City. In my current novel, Blue Heron Marsh, my protag Webb Sawyer's investigation takes him across the state to places like Clayton, Asville, Carthage, Pineville and Charlotte. He also spends some time fishing off Ocracoke Island with his friend, Blythe Parsons. I love the Outer Banks and had fun writing this book.
Hi Cyndi. I agree. It's hard to beat Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle and his Sherlock Holmes stories. I have two volumes of all his works on my shelf, just to remind myself if I'm getting too cocky about my own work what good writing and good story-telling is all about. Hope you will check out my Crimespace page and website and see what I'm doing these days.
I am launching the Nick Schaevers mysteries (each book) at The Big Sleep bookstore in St. Slouis' CWE. My friend Robert Randisi (now in St. Louis) is likely to be there to intorduce me. The first one is due in March 2008. I have two under contract.
