Waving from Alaska. I had my coworker check out your page yesterday (the one whose daughter is former Miss Teen USA/Miss Alaska Teen. She just had the biggest smile and told you to just relax and enjoy these times of your life, for they're fast and furious! Now we're all going to be rooting for your daughter and watching who wins Miss Missouri Teen!
Thanks for being my friend. I tried to go for a walk this morning before getting on the computer and emailing a million people about The Beatitudes being available on Amazon.com; I decided to take old Pete - a Lab- for a walk. But it was 92 with a heat index of 103 and then I looked at the weather report and hurricane Dean is heading into the Gulf. Oh, Lordy, give us a break. Pete plopped down on the floor and said "this is more than the dog days of summer, podna." Lyn LeJeune
Good to meet you, Cyndi. I'm a big fan of the writers you mention, and I try to write in their tradition, with plots that matter and give the reader a chance to figure out the crime along with the protagonist.
Hi Cyndi! Sherriff Jamie, huh? The pictures distort a bit, and I thought gave him a rough and wild edge that's obviously resonating with the ladies (chuckling). He'll be 7 in November. I'll be 50 in June! I sit at taekwondo and little league (and hopefully soccer-European football-next!) and find these women my age with me are the grandma's and not the mom's! My coworker's daughter was Miss Teen USA and Miss Teen Alaska, and she tells me it's a really, really busy life - so know you must be one busy mom. Thanks for the comments. I have a little dog, too, came to me from International Hearing Dogs in Colorado. Named Josie. Shitzu-poodle mix. She's so proud when she's wearing her uniform! She thinks she's a cat, though.
OH MY GOD. SHE IS GORGEOUS, SO CUTE!! my little Indiana would go nuts. He quite likes ahem. you know. Puppy making. he's always ready! most recently he tried it on with a Rhodesan ridgeback three times his size. people were convlsed with laughter all anyone saw was a little white terrier reaching up but not making it (sideways! and running along sideways--going yeah, baby!!!
Cyndi,
Thanks so for the invite. Louise Rosen, President of the Greater St. Louis chapter of Sisters in Crime gave my latest novel Little Gods a very nice blurb now posted on my website as well (www.littlegods.net)
Cyndi, thanks for taking the time to comment about my dialogue concerns. I've had some good suggestions and think I will consider them when I go thru and do a rewrite. Thanks again, it was helpful.
Ah, St. Louis. Went to a conference there a few years back ... the arch was right outside my hotel window. Good list of writers you hav there. Have you tried the St. Louis series by Robert J. Randisi?
I've been conflicted all my life. I grew up in L.A., the first ballgame I ever went to was the first ever Dodgers game here - I was five. But my favorite ballplayer growing up was Stan Musial and I was always a Cardinals fan. Luckily it hasn't all that often come down to meaningful trouble between the teams. But I did once go to a game and watched Sandy Koufax pitch against Bob Gibson. It was an early inkling that I might suffer from multiple personality disorder.
