Gemma, I noticed you mentioned you may want to pick my brain on some point someday. Feel free to do just that anytime.

Hi Gemma. OSF is what brought me here to Ashland from LA in '04, but unfortunately I ran into an impenetrable wall of nepotism, and was not asked back. Ah, well, life goes on. In the meantime, my first PI novel has been written, and 'tis time to move on to other things.

Awe, thanks, Lynne! Funny that you found them in literature. I've seen my Heels books in both the "mystery" and "romance" sections here in Cali. I guess it just depends on the store. or the mood the stacker is in that day. :)

Gemma's books are well worth seeking out! I have really enjoyed them - only if you are in Canada and looking in Chapters for some reason Gemma is not in the mystery section. My husband found her in Literature. Being slightly odd, he picked up the first book to read on vacation and yes he also enjoyed it a lot.

Now that sounds like it's more my style - throw in a pair of wellies and you just never know whose interest will be tweaked :)

These books look so fun! You don't see heels so much in Alaska, so really notice if someone's got them on! I'm in Merrell's mocs. Silicone them and often wear them most of the winter! Hope you're not getting "shoed-out" though? almost everyone seems to mention the shoes (below). I bet that's the case everywhere you go? I bet some days you just want to slip on the Merrell's, too, and join the unheeled???

Hi Gemma - thanks for the invite - although "shoes" - I horrify people by having a total of 3 pairs of shoes and one of those is a pair of Blundstones :)

Diana is on here somewhere too. I liked the series and YES I go through horrid spells when I cannot find anything that suits me. A month later the same books are great. Makes no sense. Lyn Hamilton is also good for antiques and mysteries combined with exotic locations. ( I blame 4MA - they have opened a whole world of new authors to me and now I have trouble keeping up)

It's addictive, for sure. I've tried to cut back but the people here are way too much fun. And the industry conversations can be informative for newbies like me. Have fun!!
