Books have made me feel many things while I've been reading them. This one is the first to make me bloody glad I'm a veggie! Why's that? I'll be having flashbacks when I'm barbecuing for the omnivores this summer!

Carol: two factors:
1) That was the book that seemed to want to be written;
2) Of the two proposals I sent (one a Keller novel, one a standalone), that's the one that St. Martin's bought.
