Well, JD, I finished The Devil's Right Hand yesterday, and a damn fine read it was too - ta, chuck. Books have made me feel many things while I've been reading them. This one is the first to make me bloody glad I'm a veggie! Why's that? Jack Keller and his dreams... charred and peeling skin, cooked gobbets (great word!) of flesh clinging to bones - bloody hell, lad! I'll be having flashbacks when I'm barbecuing for the omnivores this summer!

Pat: I may have to do that. After all, as the man said, "how hard can it be?"

Carol: two factors:
1) That was the book that seemed to want to be written;
2) Of the two proposals I sent (one a Keller novel, one a standalone), that's the one that St. Martin's bought.

Dusty,

Great photo! Looks like you're running for office! I sure hope so. It's either you or Gore and Florida spindled, mutilated, and hung (not well) my vote the last time. Looks like he's only running for the Nobel Prize this time. So please tell me you're running! I'll vote for you!

Slan, Pat.

JD, thanks for adding me. What made you decide to write a standalone thriller after three in a series? Just curious.

Thanks for adding me. I see that you, too, have a picture up of Ken Bruen, sitting in (of all places) A BAR. I think I'm seeing a theme develop here...

I've gotta say, when it comes to stalkers, I consider myself the luckiest guy on the planet.

Yes, tiffany, you do :-)/.

Lori: It's still an outside possibility. Depends on how bad the IRS works me over this year.

Thanks -- I haven't read a Jack Keller yet. I need to get that sorted right quick.

Neil: We'll always have Omaha.

Mayhem's probably not in the cards this year, I'm afraid. I will be at Thrillerfest, though, since the third book comes out that same week.

You're forgiven, Dusty. You going to Mayhem this year?

Hey, I didn't take the damn thing. That's why I'm in the picture..

It was a great backrub, though. ;-)

Yeah, speaking of the pic, who's the blonde who's CUT OFF on the other side?

Gee, and after I gave you a backrub at Mayhem and everything.

It's on right now, as a matter of fact. I'm switching back and forth between Conan and the ACC Basketball tournament. Testosterone hangs heavy in the air.
