Yogi can bite me. I have no respect for that bear. Boo Boo has carried that SOB for 40 years.

Thanks for your comment on my page about my book cover. You know, when we (a friend of mine and I) designed the cover, I wasn't really thinking creepy but I've had more people say that to me. Yet, they seem to be drawn in by it. So ... I guess it did what it was suppose to do! I'd like to invite you to visit my website when you have a minute and also watch the book trailer (here and on my site).

Thanks again,
Marta

It was great picking the locales, but I also picked spots that were old stomping grounds for me growing up--the less traveled locations. And yes, it's hard to wait, but I'm writing my next 3-book series which will be more thriller with some international locales and Alaska (where I lived 10 yrs). I'm having a blast and the time is flying by now.

Alright, now I'm really homesick. The riverwalk is my favorite part of the city. And my brother-in-law's first college roommate was from the family that owns Mi Tierra. So now I have to wait almost a year to reead this. Must be harder for you, having sold it last year. LONG time to wait ...

SCREAM will be released Apr 2008. If you're homesick, try the Story Behind the Story (drill down into my website for SCREAM) for the locales I used and their significance for me. I also have excerpts describing the scenes. I used to go to Ursuline Academy, near Churchill and graduated a couple of years after you, so we must have crossed paths. And I ultimately graduated from UTD (Dallas) too. Very small world.

What's the book title and when will it be out? I keep a stack of Texas books handy for when I get homesick.

I lived just north of Castle Hills, and was the first class of Churchill HS to go all 4 years. Graduated in 1970, and except for the following 2 summers when I was home, haven't lived there since. But I went to UT, and then my husband did his graduate work at A&M.
OK, looked around and found the title but no release date.

Thanks, Lois. I love that you grew up in my hometown. I can't wait to do a book launch there.

Have a good trip to San Antonio! My parents still live in the house I grew up in, a couple blocks from Remember the Alibi. I love that store, but haven't been back to Texas since Patsy retired.

Congrats on selling your second series!

That's what I find interesting - the way two designers have a completely different vision, but they both work in their own ways. Interestingly, the apparently tougher, darker, more macho British cover was the one designed by a woman, whereas the American designer (I think) is male. Again, so much for stereotypes ...

I do love the US cover. I'm not sure I can say which I like best. Both are so good and eye catching.

It's weird, isn't it - that moment when all the contracts have been signed, all the preparations have been made, the orders have come in from the bookstores, the posters have been booked, the PR campaign's been set up ... and you have no idea how it's actually going to work out in the end. Trust me, I know how it feels. Oh God, do I know ... (By the way, if you like the UK cover, you'll be really interested in the US one - a totally different approach, but equally good in its way)

Don't talk to me about being a star, but come have a cold libation and you've got my interest. Welcome to CS, Tom. Your book looks awesome!!

SIX books sold? Now, that's just showing off!! Seriously - many, many congratulations on your fantastic achievement .. and since you've also won a gazillion writing awars, I have a feeling you could be Crimespace's budding superstar-in-waiting. So we'll all be able to boast, 'We had her on our friends list when she was still unpublished' - excellent!

The last time I slammed a cold brew, I fell off the bar putting the ugly back in Coyote. Next time, I'm using a safety harness.

No cat? Then whose turds are in the litter box, D?

Hey,

Send me the cover art at my regular e-mail---I won't tell, or sell it on E-bay, use it in the litter box.

The litter box? Why do I have one? I don't have a cat...

I never know if I should post that kind of news here. We're all professionals. But I was thrilled to see the faith my publisher Avon has in me. Six books and none on the shelves yet (a well-pubbed friend of mine likes to point out). Thanks so much for the kind words, Robert and Joyce.
