Hi Joyce -- great to meet you here on Crimespace. Hoping to make it to Pittsburgh area (Mystery Lovers Bookshop) next spring when my new book comes out. I was fascinated by your story of finding a box of your mother's writings. Could be the intriguing opening of a mystery novel...

Thanks for the suggestion ... I'll do it.

I should have read this message first. The only women I know with the maiden name "McCloskey" are my sisters, Carol & Irene, who grew up in Squirrel Hill. So unless you're a long-lost niece there's probably no familial connection. Even so, there are a great many fine writers here in Pittsburgh, and about to be many more as the newspapers shed staff. That's a crime in itself.

Hi Joyce
I know the frustration of finding and keeping agents! Good luck to you with that. And good luck with your series. It sounds like a winner.

Hi Joyce,

You won't believe this. After taking your advice and that of a couple of other folks at AQ, I switched my 1st and 2nd graphs in my query and tweaked the language we discussed. Today, (on a Saturday) I got a request for a partial from an agent while she is traveling in Italy! *SMH*

This AgentQuest is something else. When you are riding high, it's HIGH and when it's low, well, I can't change the font to show exactly how low it can get.

Truly, thanks for your input to the Query query. It is greatly appreciated.

Hi Joyce,

Thanks for the comment on my blog. It's an awful feeling isn't it when theses things happen. As you say though, let's hope it will lead to bigger and better things for 'Glastonbury', and I wish you the very best of luck in finding a new agent too.

Ok, how about "unfolds, you are drawn to a woman..."

Does that work a little better? Thanks ever so much for lending your advice. =)
